Park Plaza had a better/bigger supply/display of patches than Pagoda on Thursday. I bought many.

What do you all do with these patches? Sew them on your boy scout uniforms? I can't recall ever seeing someone with patches on a jacket or jeans or anything.

Now that it's brought up, I'm just thinking Luminosity would be better served in the area of Wheels Extreme. I still think they should tear down that building to have better beach views. Have Luminosity inside facing the beach so it doesn't block.
Okay, just looked at the map, maybe there wouldn't be enough room, especially with Planet Snoopy. But it would be a great location, near the hotels, the beach parties, etc. Isn't there a pavilion over there, too?
They really need to get in a lower height family coaster. Or else reevaluate Iron Dragon's and Mine Ride's height limit. My kids are older now but the lack of any substantial family rides restricted us from taking our young children.

So according to the Lemon Chill Dude they're replacing a 46" height limit "family" coaster... with a 54" height limit world record breaker.
Iron Dragon is 48"
BBW's removal is not a 1:1 comparison; it was in a park that had a longer operating season by a matter of several weeks every year. That adds up to a lot of additional running time; going by the far more precise measurement of clock hours it will still be years before ID is the same 'age' as BBW was.
The parts thing is also much ado about nothing; a machinist or metallurgist can custom fabricate anything that may be needed. Somebody had to make the parts in the first place after all.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
I heard a rumor that is much more out there, but rumor has it that the CP&LE RR will extended to the front gate with a new front of park station. I know that seems kind of crazy, but the unofficial source I heard it from was the same one that somehow knew about the GTT and Dodgem removal months before the announcement.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Attend an ACE event. Many of the guys (it's almost always guys) ahead of you in the buffet line will be sporting vests or jackets covered with patches.
Over the years I've met many people who collect the patches, but don't sew them onto anything.

Yes, Thanks, I forgot about the genius decision to raise it a few years back. Though it's still a lot more of a family style coaster than a B&M.
-Tyler A-
Than a B&M? They do make (and actively market) coasters with minimum heights as low as 46", you know.
Absolutely. But I'm really only referring to the B&M dive coaster that has been rumored that the "lemon chill guy" called the replacement for ID.

Well that would be interesting. Maybe where the picnic pavilions are?

Interesting, but doubt it. It would probably be pretty difficult to get the train tracks all the way up to the front of the park. That would leave for a much longer train ride too that's for sure.

I guess it's not as much of a thing as it used to be. Back when Blue Streak had its 25th anniversary I bought the commemorative patch along with a Cedar Point patch and put them on my denim jacket along with some other custom artsy stuff I did to it in high school. My son really likes it and has has started collecting patches for his jacket and these new ones are great because he's had his eye on my old Blue Streak patch for some time and he's not getting it. Now he can have his own. I don't think the denim jacket patches thing is as popular as it used to be. One of my kids is into it and has a few patches from other places, the other doesn't really care.
If ID is demolished then something spectacular better take its place. That area is one of the best coaster landscapes in the park. If Luminosity or a new show venue took its place I would be furious.

How long ago was that picture taken of those patches?
I talked to the shop clerks this afternoon and they said they've NEVER had any Iron Dragon patches and were told they weren't going to be getting any in!
I still think Lemon Chill guy is on to something... Iron Dragon's days are numbered...
Good news everyone! The patches are now available at Park Plaza as well!
And that's a Rougarou patch!
Its an Iron Dragon patch though. They don't even look similar... http://s1083.photobucket.com/user/5150Tyler5150/media/photo_zps3o6ndlxm.jpg.html?o=0
Someone please close this topic.

Yes... It's an Iron Dragon patch in the picture. It's tongue-in-cheek. I thought it was obvious after I made the comment about Park Plaza.
I found a stack of them in Park Plaza after making the original post. (Sigh...)
It doesn't change the fact that I think ID is going to be removed. It's in the way of Luminosity, which is the crown jewel of the park. They keep whacking down the cue line. It's old. It's obviously hard to maintain because other similar coasters are getting ripped out. They have to close it early every night for the show... The third train seems to have disappeared...
I could go on...
Sorry to everyone for trying to have a lighthearted discussion. If you start at the original post it should be obvious that I don't take myself too seriously...
