I just complained about this in another thread! So all of the restraints on all trains are fixed now?
That makes me really happy since I'll be heading to Halloweekends soon. The past few rides I've had horrible experiences with the restraints.
I've also seen 3 cell phones fall out of pockets on the very first hill during 3 different rides. It's crazy watching a small item like that fall. It's almost like it's slow motion.
Just got home 9/8. Rode GK 4 times. Strangely enough, all train 3. Back right and left vest was perfect. Right row 6 inner locked down. The modified vests really give a great ride. A lot of freedom of movement, especially trough the keyholes.
I rode four times yesterday. Left front on the outside, second row, towards the middle, and towards the rear. None of the seats I rode in had ratcheting vests.
The restraints are perfect now, absolutely no shoulder pain. The ride was a walk-on yesterday, so I rode it about 8 times in a row in complete comfort.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Thanks to Cedar Point for vestapalooza! Non-claustrophobic, breathable rides for me, too!

Did the Zombie High VIP event and had an awesome evening. We did GK 2x before going home and walked on to row 2 with no tightening vests. Outside and inside were both smooth and fun. Thank you CP for the "vestapalooza". Awesome rides tonight!

The vest fix has made this ride even better! Enjoyed every ride we had on it this weekend. It was smooth in every seat we rode in, we were prepared for a rough ride towards the back and were pleased that it was smooth!

Had one of the best rides yet frday night. Upfront and smooth. Yes, the vests make a big difference.
Got the chance to ride Gatekeeper this past Saturday and I loved every moment of it. Rode the last seats on the left than right side and it instantly jumped into my top 5 coasters at Cedar Point. I don't get why people are saying the ride is not forceful. While its not as forcefull as Raptor I found it to have the perfect amount of intensity and great pacing. I think the expectations are that if coasters aren't Intamin or old school B&M intense they are just ok coasters but Gatekeeper proved IMO that all rides don't haveto be super intense to be great. I will say I hope that I hope more wing coasters are built soon.
The green train from Millennium landed under Magnum and that is what is causing Magnum to sink!!!
One of the trains still has a locking vest in the front right... I have not had a locking vest the past two weekends out of my 20 rides or so, except one on Sunday.
Did not like! Spoiled by the loose ones now.

Not sure what other people are thinking.
While I thought Gatekeeper was a decent ride, it does not crack my top 5 at CP. I, for one, was very disappointed. It felt slow. (MF, TTD, MAV, RAP, MAG). I just hope it remains popular to draw people away from the other coasters...

I think it's a good ride. I have a different experience every time I ride it, depending on which side I sit on.
Rode it this past Saturday in the front row and Oh man, probably my best ride since Media Day. I love how they made the vests move more freely. Gives you the feeling of flying. :)
Shawn, I agree... Front seat (either side) with the loose vest especially at dusk/night is simply incredible. I just let myself fall into the vests leaning forward, and the sensation is amazing. I love it.

I can tell the difference after they have fixed the vest on the restraints. Much more comfortable. I can enjoy the ride better. There is still a few seats that are not fixed yet but I am sure that they will get to them yet this winter. Now that B&M has know that there is a problem with their vest restraints. The B&M will make the vest restraints better so that it will not tighten down to the point that the person cannot hardly breathe. The gatekeeper is my top favorite ride at cedar Point.
I want to echo everyone else on the forums on the new vest. I loved the hanging experience before the drop. I am new to coasters but I am still curious about people's concern about no force? I actually felt some force. I even had some air-time.
People have complained about the lack of re-rides. I hope people give it a chance again and learn how good of a ride this is.
Gatekeeper is one of my very favorite rides, I love the somewhat drawn out elements that really heighten the feeling of flying and soaring. This ride really is just pure fun. The restraint modifications make it a ride that can be marathoned for a long time, it really never gets old.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Rode GateKeeper tonight, friday 27th. Rode it 11 times on media day,but never front or last row. Rode it once at coastermania. Tonights' ride was front row right side inner seat about 10:30 pm-BEST ride I ever had on it.
