If you've looked at the merchandise....nowhere could I find a shirt that said it had three inversions or a heartline roll. Lots of other stats, no mention of 3 inversions.
Now come on, bring out the conspiracy theorists. :)

^^Why would they have to do that? They have cranes.
The canyon is straight, the track was straight. Hook a crane to it and lift. There's no reason to cut a piece of track unless you're leaving it there for support temporarily.

^ - good point. If that support is holding up the end of the not being removed piece, they won't want to remove it till the replacement is here.
Tim - there's a male and female end on each section. So, its not quite as simple as lifting one straight out and dropping the next straight in, there's a bit of "work" involved in shimmying the last piece into place. Which is also why the supports aren't all torqued down until the last piece is in place.

This really stinks i wanted to ride it with the heartline roll..oh well im sure it will still be a great ride :)
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
I have mixed feelings with this development and think there could be the potential for some significant head banging at that speed. (hope not).
I am more shocked that after 500 rides this kind of mistake can happen. I can't think of any coaster that has had elements removed AFTER construction and BEFORE it opened - amazing - and extremely disapointing.
It will be interesting if the heartline returns next year, or weather Intamin will be paying CP some compensation for breach of contract. (I have to assume the CF legal team contracted with Intamin for a coaster with 3 inversions).
How disappointing, but oh well, that's life!
In another thread, I suggested the heartline twist should be replaced with a loop, bunny hop, or trick-track, so I am happy it was at least one of those :) I can't wait to ride!

I must agree that this isn't really coming as a surprise to me... CP wants to open the ride as quickly as possible, not deal with the headache of trying to be creative here.
While it is disappointing, I haven't heard good things about that inversion on Intamin's, and I would much rather a comfortable ride that only flips you upside down twice rather than an uncomfortable ride that flips you upside down three times.
It just seems like the ride has enough change in direction elements, and its too bad they couldn't have thought of something else.
And why would the height requirement be higher now? The only thing I can think of is that there are more trouble spots than just this.
They must have had some serious miscalculations when planning this ride...

Well, I kind of felt like this might happen. I remember seeing the heart-line roll listed last on the features of a sign, ah yes, here it is:

I remember thinking, "boy, that would be easy to fix if they took the roll out". The roll being last was struck me as a bit suspicious.
I came across a nice set of pics from today's construction from another site. Here's the link :

I have no doubt this ride will still be a ton of fun, but I too am sad to see the roll go. It did look pretty cool from the testing vids.
I bet that was a mess, trying to cut through the support with sand pouring out of it.

If you're gong to check out those photos, start at the last one and work your way backwards. Otherwise it ruins everything and the pics at the end seem boring.
