Yes, Chris, I will definitely agree, Halloweekends was the most fun job I've ever worked. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it, seeing as last year was my first time, but I ultimately enjoyed it. The knockdowns were great- I got quite a few chain reactions last year. :-)
One piece of advice though: I plan on bringing something else to help get the glue off at night, that orange stuff that they give you to use can be abrasive to the skin. Anyone know of anything that works better?
Has anyone heard when time to reapply for 07 season is yet? Just wondering because I plan on reapplying as early as possible because I want to do something in the park (most likely Admissions) to get housing for the weekends.

... got news for you, I've tried alot of things and the Detachol is honestly the best. The only other real option is high content rubbing alchohol, and honestly, the smell of it almost chokes most people when it's that much, that close to their face.

I'm with Rob on this one. The Detachol works just fine for me, and I haven't heard anyone else complain about it. As long as you wash your face before you get the mask on and have some patience when taking it off, you can get 90% of the glue and paint off your face in no time at all.
I think this may be the earliest I've ever seen a Halloweekends thread brought back to life...
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Although not officially hired (or even applied) yet, I will be back for my 4th year.
I should mention that I strongly encourage people to apply to work with us, and to tell your friends to apply to work with us, but only if you are ready and willing to work your butt off. It's the best job you'll ever have, but it's also very physically demanding. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions.

99er and Rob are exactly right, and I really should have mentioned that in my post. Just wanting to work there because it's CP is a bad reason to become a Screamster. Although admittedly, that's how I wound up there my first year. I just got lucky and happened to love the job. It's not for just anyone though. There's a reason that we've been voted the #1 seasonal event for two years in a row now. :)

Cedar Point does not require auditions to be a Screamster. When you have your phone interview, you'll be asked questions such as can you control your temper, if you will be available most of the weekends (which was an issue last year), and if you have an allergy to latex (the masks are made of latex).
I hope that we get a LOT of people this year...ask around!
As stated in the latest CP Blog entry, there are still plenty of positions available for Screamsters. So if you've been thinking about it, get your application in. Be sure to email Peggy Bertsch (pbertsch@cedarpoint.com) and let her know you have submitted your application. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
