Griffing-Sandusky Airport sold?

Why not turn it into a disney world size international attraction?

With the fastest, tallest, craziest rides and more of them than in any other place?

The bigger the park, the larger the capacity, higher capacity= more money

Walt Disney had the foresight to purchase all that land

Matt could have a similar vision

That's a fallacy. Just ask the good folks behind SFO/SFWoA how increasing capacity worked out...

Yeah, funny how some people tend to believe that pride alone fuels the construction of record-breaking coasters.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

^^^ the airport is NOT adjacent to CP. It is not walking distance to CP. "A disney world size international attraction," assuming it could fit on 100 acres, or any other attraction would cannibalize CP, not add to it.

2 parks = 2 overheads. As the Ensign noted, didn't work so well in Aurora.

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

But the Disney parks, at least in Orlando, are not within walking distance of each other either.

My bet is on artificial land expansion once they realize they need more room.

I hope these are mostly new members because of Gatekeeper that will leave soon. I have been reading some dumb posts lately. A pedestrian bridge? Move soak city? A parking garage? A hotel? Wow?!?

Looking back over the thread, I didn't see where we have any reason to believe Cedar Fair was the buyer. While that is land I would want if I was CF, I know Erie County Metroparks has expressed an interest in the land before, and we have to allow for other resort companies such as a "Kalahari" to be interested in such a large prime tract. Do we have any clues on who actually bought it or are we knee-deep in fan-boy speculations?

Most people on this site are knee-deep in fan-boy speculations. I can't believe you even had to ask that question. Our was it just a statement?

It was more a polite prod to step back from the monorail kool-aid and ask what the facts actually were. I mean, we are three pages into it, and I see no shred of a possibility of a clue CF actually bought the land. If this is just going to be Osborne Park 2.0, let's quit here and go back to debating the size of the pavers in Gatekeeper's plaza like good fan-boys. B-)

I can say with a fair amount of certainty, after being at the airport today, that at least some of it will be residential, pending some kind of rezoning.

That wouldn't be surprising, although really who is building/buying homes in Sandusky nowadays?

Goodbye Famous Airport

I never knew that airport was so large until I saw that movie. :)

Or, spots in strip malls for that matter.

Can we send it to Michigan's Adventure?

;)

Let's Get Weird.

If Michigan's Adventure needed an airport, it would already...

Damn. Wrong Buzz.

I hope he didn't go the day where it was 80 degrees then snowed a foot the next day.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

The best idea posted was making a bridge from Cedar Point to this new land, for more rides and such.

It's only a 4-5 mile walk. LOL.
