Conceivably, like two weeks maybe. Let's say next week they knock down SS, cut it up, ship that and the scrap from DT away and start clearing the ground they could start pouring the week after next.
*Please keep in mind that I have no clue or experience in this type of work lol :)
Great, can't wait!
They just better drill some holes in that fence. It's no fun if we can't get good photographs. ;D

So when did they say they were going to begin footers for GK? Was it supposed to be early September?
As stated at the announcement Q&A, footer work will get underway around October 1st.
Brandon
but maybe they're moving the live cam?
Probably putting it on top of Space Spiral so we can all experience the last great ride! :)
@dJ - Alright.
Based on the video, it seems like this whole month will be dedicated to destroying SS and other prep work, while october is the month for footers and the actual track delivery. He said we wouldn't see vertical construction until November, which is a bit of a shame, but I'm sure that construction will be visible via the webcams and Becca's blog.
IIRC, They said Space Spiral gone by the end of September, Footers begining in October, Steel delivery around mid-October.

Don't forget there's still 8 million pounds of concrete to remove (as per the WKYC article). I'm sure it will take some time to rip up all of the foundations the DT ride and building sat on.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

But I do like that Aaronosmer put the date on his. I have already lost track of when Week 2 was. Could you add that to the first post on your next update?
I am a bit surprised that the tree lovers are not screaming. Maybe having the lake now visible makes it OK to cut the trees down?

The "tree lovers" have been commenting. The most recent example was a whole 4 posts above yours.

I understand complaining about tree removal when they put in Maverick or Dragster, but did those trees over by the beach really serve a purpose except further blocking the lake where DT did not?

They did, you know, supply oxygen for you to breathe ;)
And the trees likely helped prevent beach erosion. I commented on the missing trees August 29th.

Have you ever seen a tree? Specifically, of the deciduous variety?
No? Ahh, ok then - that explains it. ;)
Deciduous trees often do not have branches so close to the ground that they block the view for people under 14' tall.
