Fun TV

So the sound only comes out of the TVs? It should not have been hard to route the audio to the existing speakers in the queues. I really hope that is something they will work on in the future.

I don't go to Cedar Point, or any amusement park, to watch TV whether in a queue line or restaurant. I like to talk with the friends and family in line with me. Bring back the music.

Each TV has a separate speaker mounted on the pole below the TV. Some lines still have speakers mounted, others were taken out, and still others never had speakers in them at all.

I go to spend money on lockers and fast lane. You must be doing it wrong.

The thing about when Paramount put in TVs at KI is that they were in every single line and practicaly everywhere, at least CP's are only in the queues of the biggest attractions.

I agree, DJs were the best and felt the most interactive. But hopefully they will improve upon Fun TV so it's not a constant loop of the same stuff.

I wish they got rid of the music videos, played the old queue music, and play the advertisements for the park between songs. While the songs are playing, they could even show other advertisements or loop the weather, sports, and news.

I am not impressed with Fun TV at all. I wish it worked well because it's a great idea. The sound isn't loud enough at all and as a result, nobody can hear it unless you're right next to it. Nobody is even paying attention to them from what I've noticed so far.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

^I pay attention to them. I enjoy watching the music videos and answering the trivia for each roller coaster that they put on the screen. They need to mix it up more with that though. Plus those screens give me something to watch when I'm tired of playing Tetris on my phone.

Why does everyone always pine for the days of yore?

Things have to change, or they get stale. "Remember When?" is always better than "that's getting old".

I experienced Fun TV during ACE's Spring Conference's Kings Island portion. It's certainly not captivating television, but it provided an occasional few moments diversion.

I just hope this isn't another "Project" that just falls into disrepair in a year. Both at Cedar Point and Kings Island I have noticed several of the TVs having signal issues, frozen, or not turned on at all. On top of those issues, the sound quality is terrible. You can only hear it if you are next to the TV, and half of the time those speakers are over-driven and sound terrible. I really like the concept of FunTV, but it's not quite there yet.

I agree with this idea of playing advertisements/video clips in between songs. If they could perfect organizing video clips (both informal and entertaining) while still playing songs "fit" with the rides (like 80's for Magnum, Maverick's original 2007 playlist, etc...), then I think FunTV would be a pretty big hit.

Plus, I think it would be cool to have cameramen throughout the park for people to "see themselves on TV." This isn't just something I came up with either. I think it's been talked about before. I think this was mentioned in this interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geRHSsurWwA

I would love to see them play the original TV ads for rides in their respective queues. Though I imagine the audience that would dig that might be small.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this. Gatekeeper is using its pre-existing speakers alongside Fun TV. It's the only queue I've been in where the new audio is intelligible throughput the queue.

^^That and vintage park commercials. That would be a great thing to play on them. I don't normally stand in lines long enough to watch much of it but I would think occasional radar shots when the weather is getting sketchy would be useful.

LOL...heard this last night (and sang along)
coming home from a day at CP! also, the comments about older/vintage commercials shown on Fun TV...would be a great idea.

Remember Cedar Point...The Amazement Place, and CP: The Cure for The Summertime Blues.

You know what? I think Cedar Point read my Idea on here of wanting to make the questions a little more challenging. One of the questions that got me was how much track length does Cedar Point have throughout the park? I couldn't figure that one until the screen told me at the end. I guess the answer was around 57,000? Anyone remember this question?
