Fun TV

I wonder if the TVs will be viewable by those under 48"

Better yet, will the TV's still be turned on during rainfall or major thunderstorm downpours? There doesn't look to be anything covering them. Hope those things are electrically grounded or zap!

Well I thought most people knew how to get there...sorry....

^^ I don't think we'll need to worry about these TV's going the way of Raptor's or Maverick's. They are so-called "all weather TVs" from a company called SunBriteTV (http://www.sunbritetv.com/). In person you can tell they're pretty weatherproof. The power cord design is evident of that.

Source: I attended opening weekend at KI, pilot park for FunTV.

They are weatherproof. Rained at KI, still runs. They look good in direct sunlight & at night. They do need dimmed a bit at night as they're still pretty lit up, but they are nice. Sound is excellent through them btw, they all have a speaker either under or near the screen. They did a good job this year with it, I was more than impressed. At first I thought it would end up like QTV @ DB.

Did anyone really think even for a moment that these things weren't weatherproof, and thoroughly tested as such?

Really.

That's exactly what I was thinking. As if CF has never had to install electronics outside.

What great newfangled technology!
I wonder if they could make scoreboards weatherpr...

Oh.

That's like saying rollercoasters aren't waterproof... I'm pretty sure they thought that through.

Disaster Transport wasn't waterproof, and that was an enclosed coaster..

Whoa, time for a new signature.

^ Thanks for your explanation of the Sunbrite company's weatherproof Tvs and thedevariouseffects summary of the KI ones. Much appreciated. Sorry but I've never seen a "weatherproof" TV, especially an outdoor one at my local Best Buy or other TV store. Both of your explanations were helpful.
As for the few comments after those two, all of CP's installed outside electronics are usually placed in underground conduit, these weren't. If you're not teenagers or children, those other useless negative and non-helpful comments make you appear as such.

You're the one that wrote "Hope those things are electrically grounded or zap!"

In my valuable and highly sought-after opinion, that makes you look pretty stupid.

These TVs are specialized commercial products designed for use in rough environments. You will never see products like that at Best Buy, which deals in consumer grade equipment.

Well that escalated quickly. Just a tad bit harsh there

I think the TVs will be a nice addition to select lines that for some reason are more boring than others.

argues just for clicks

No harsher than his, just not as convoluted and veiled.

HBO would be a better offering than FunTV to pass the time in the lines. Of course, that will be an upcharge from the basic queue line TV package - and require a FP converter bracelet.

I'd rather watch snoopy cartoons.

I'd rather read T-shirts.
