Amazing fact: There are some people in the US that have never even heard of CP. (they must be very sheltered)...

Rides on the Move!
The giant ferris wheel by the beach was first installed by the train station near the current site of Millennium Force.
The Troika ride now by the giant ferris wheel used to be located near the Corkscrew.
And the site by Corkscrew now occupied by the Power Tower was formerly occupied by Jungle Larry's Safari (www.junglelarry.com and http://www.napleszoo.org/Visitor_Info/History.htm)
The Calypso located by the Blue Streak used to be at the entrance to Jungle Larry's when the safari attraction used to be an actual island.
Employee Names for Rides
I heard a couple creative names for rides. When the Iron Dragon turned out not be as fast as some hoped for, it was nicknamed the "Iron Drag." But my favorite was when a ride named Avalanche Run was enclosed and given a space theme (Disaster Transport) and it was known as "Avalanche Re-Run"
During the summer of 2006 while waiting in line for front seat on millennium some kid came up behind me and puked all over the place. Need I remind you this was before he got on the ride. poor kid must have been nervous. haha
^Computers, LIMs, and 13 years later, that $1 million makes sense.

I have another fun fact. If you are bored during your lecture class at school, put some POV videos on your mp3 player or ipod, and pretend you're riding the roller coaster so you don't fall asleep! Well.. maybe not so much a fact but some bad influence.

I know of a lot of people from around the country who have never heard of Cedar Point, my friend at school here from Pennsylvania hasn't heard of it until I took her there last fall.

Inflation is the reason Wicked Twister was more expensive.

At one time back in the 60's, they had what was called the "Courtesy Corp". This was a group of employees, mainly female, who stood on small circular platforms located around the park. They wore bright colored outfits so they could be easily seen. Their job was to simply stand there and help any guest who came up to them with a problem or question, like where the nearest restroom was.
A relative of mine was one for a season, and she didn't like it. But, she got a nice tan from it!

It just went up the other day to over 300 dollars a ton.
^ - don't tell Detroiters that, they'll switch from stealing copper to stealing steel.

Not really a fun fact but a fact nonetheless, when I was still in school (back in the dark ages, the 80's really) we were walking past The Witches Wheel when some sort of, let's call it liquid with chunks in it, splatted all over the window-like thing that protected the operator. It was most disturbing.
^funny story. So when i was working witches wheel last year, an old ride host was about to get on, and while we were waiting he was telling me about why they had to put that plastic shield up in the first place, and it was to protect the ride op from that exact situation. Im glad it was there because i know a couple of times i would not have been able to move out of the way of some of the stuff coming off of there...
