There used to be another Sky-ride lift station in Frontier Town.
Are you sure about that? The current restroom next to Skyhawk was the original station, as far as I knew.

Certain residents of Connecticut, whose homes were burned by British invaders, recieved land grants in the Sandusky area, and formed a settlement in 1816. This land came to be called the "Firelands"

That's the one I was referring to. I guess I meant another "working" station.
I wonder what's upstairs now? Probably storage.
And to answer someone's question earlier, yes, by "FT" I meant Frontier Town.
I really miss those paddle boats. Of course, the whole boat ride itself was different back then, but the paddlewheels added a nice touch. Do they still call it "Paddlewheel Excursions?"
Promoter of fog.
Sky Ride never went to Frontier Town, the Frontier Lift did. The washroom building next to Skyhawk was one station, the other one stood where the present day Iron Dragon stations stands.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
It's funny how our memory plays tricks. I was thinking they were connected...like one continuous lift.
Promoter of fog.
Wasn't there a road that went through Cp before perimeter road was made?
Raptor Facts:
There is 117 sections of track.
All of the ride put together weighs 1.5 Million tons.
The lift chain weighs 9,000 pounds.
It used 1,500 gallons of paint.
When it was built it replaced 85,000 sq. ft. of the Main Midway.
Halloweekends Facts:
It takes 45 minutes (average) to get one monster in makeup and costume.
The Halloweekends popular hearse cost the park $800. (Bought in 1997)
1,000 bales of hay, 5,000 cornstalks, and 10,000 pounds of pumpkins are spread through the park.
Millennium Fact:
Mille has 400 support colums.
Let's Get Weird.
i worked at turnpikes in 85 when space spiral went down, had a great view of them getting guests out up there. and in 87 when i worked thunder canyon, its 2nd year, never saw a fish in a raft.

It is possible to get in the park free through a side entrance gate, about 10 minutes before the park closes and ride something like TTD or MF, since entrance lines don't close until 8 minutes after the park 'closes'.

Yes, the road went through the present Marina gate, followed the path that now goes past the dodgems, over the main midway to what is now the employee gate by the Marketing Department and on the Hotel Breakers. All hotel guests drove down that road, across the midway, to get to the hotel. The midway had candy cane colored metal posts outlining the road to make sure cars did not start driving down the midway.

The boat ride used to use authentic Steam Paddle boats! Very cool! And now, if you drive to CP via Port Clinton, you can see one of the boats "docked" at a marina (Im not sure of the name of the marina)
No, the Western Cruise boats were gasoline powered (not steam) and the paddlewheel did not provide thrust. It free wheeled and turned because of the motion of the boat, which was propelled by a conventional inboard propeler drive I believe. This was very obvious when the boat was put into reverse for docking. The paddlewheel did not turn in reverse, the prop under the hull did.

- Each train on Millennium Force has 96 wheels.
Incorrect.
Each wheel assembly has 6 total wheels or 2 main, 2 guideand 2 upstop wheels. There are two wheel assemblies on each car exceptthe first which has 4. That is eight cars with 2 assemblies each andone with 4 assemblies. That works out to be 20 wheel assemblies. Sincethere are 6 wheels per assembly, that comes out to 120 wheels total pertrain.
If you count the wheels which are used to lift the antirollbackdogs, that makes 126 wheels total per train. There are two antirollbackdogs on each of the 1st, 4th, and 9th cars totaling 6 antirollback dogsper train. The 4th car also has the chain dog attached to it between the antirollback dogs.

You know, it's funny because I thought that number was wrong, and 120 is what I got when I added it up... but that's exactly what it says in the Coutesy Corps Guide. I guess I shouldn't have trusted it, considering that that is the same guide that says Top Thrill Dragster has vehicles that have "10 rows of passengers seated 4 across with three 36 passenger trains."

It seems longer than that. Can anyone confirm?

It's 1/4 of a mile between the Sky Ride stations. Not sure what that scales to for the rest of the park, but I'm sure someone can figure it out. I know Demon Drop to Gemini (the Halloweekends parade route) is almost exactly one mile.
