Front Gate Destruction/Construction

Oh, I'm paying attention. And your responses appear to be "complaints." Buddy.

God forbid somebody complains. I didn't realize that one of the rules on these forums were to not complain about anything.

Anyway, since you brought it up, I wasn't complaining. Simply pointing out that the track work near the keyholes seemed a little slower than the rest of the ride. The fact that they lifted the track rather quickly and then had the cranes attached for some 5 hours for a single piece of track. If you watched the other parts of the ride being erected, it was a quicker process between first lift to disconnect.

Simply pointing out an observation. Lighten up chief.

I understand your points. Just like you were complaining, I was merely making my point.

And please, stop being condescending.

OHHH MY GOSH ITS 6:30 AND THEY STOPPED WORKING!?@#*^!!! :)

I think they are putting this thing together really quickly. I don't really remember all that clearly, but I would say this project is going much faster than Maverick. That's just my opinion though.

If anyone ever complains about the "slowness" of a construction crew, go work for a crew. Not just Cedar Point, but anywhere. Construction crews get the job done. Some jobs, such as holding multi-ton steel pieces in the air and tightening every bolt can be time consuming. And the track is not the only thing that needs done. Give credit were credit's due.

Yeah, instead some people just complain about the lack of work being done in a cold environment. And, then complain about being bored watching a piece of track getting assembled every 3 hours or so. Wow, some people on here really need to get some semblance of a life.

Yeah, a majority of people don't realize what goes on in the construction industry. Of course you'll be told that everything's right on schedule. Do you really think the media is going to be notified about the issues that occur during a construction project? Happens on every construction job. It's a pretty wacky business with all the delays and change orders. Add to the fact that those contrators have been working in the most freezing temperatures the last few weeks. Makes all the remarks of how construction slows down is ridiculous.

In addition to writing a thank you letter to Adena, those of you complaining should also write to them if you think they are slow. They are responsible for the station construction and erecting the steel.

Even if they're a little behind right now, they'll be done in plenty of time.

Haha nice.

I work for our theater building sets, its not easy work. I have great respect for the Adena works. We had to send only two hours working out side this last week and it was miserable. I couldn't even imagine working all day in lake Erie winter weather.

The Crystal Method is the only way to find The Winner!

This winter has been pretty cold & snowy so therefore its going to slowdown the progress some due to the fact that the construction workers can take so much of working in the cold. There has been several days when the temps were only in the teens through the low 20s. So therefore so those workers can work only for a short period of time in the cold weather then they have to go inside to warm up to prevent hypothermia & frostbites. Also when it is snowy outside it cuts down on their visualbilty to be able to see where they are aligning each pieces of the track & supports. Don't worry those workers are doing the best they can throughout this winter. They are doing pretty good that they got passed the half point of getting the ride structure up. Good job to those construction workers who dig so hard in the cold snowy weather.

It sure is taking a long time to install 3 pieces of track in the keyholes. I'm bored.

Watching a web cam all day is boring? Shocking.

One thing that hasn't been talked about too much is how low to the ground this coaster will go in certain parts of the ride. I think that will be very exciting considering the riders will be beside the track, rather than above it. Does anyone else think that the low parts of the coaster will be overlooked, but quite thrilling?

I have counted nearly 14 head and feet "choppers" throughout the ride, including the close to the ground areas. I think its going to be very exciting!! :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

It's interesting you say that sause because my son and I were just looking at that exact thing last night while looking at the new pictures. I totally agree that the brushes with the ground are going to be just as good as the near misses with supports and towers.

Well, I was already bored, that just compounded it.

You may be bored looking at webcams, but just remember, CP is giving you three different webcams to look at for one project. Plus, viewing the pictures Walt put up yesterday I was amazed with the amount of electrical work done around the station and up the hill in the cold weather. Lots going on even if it doesn't look like it.

- Out of my way, I'm coaster bound...

I'd probably bet that the chain is finished and all the electrical is done. They've had more than enough time for that.

^ I'm going to guess neither of those is finished. The photos yesterday showed no chain on the lift. Also it is not possible for the electrical to be done until the Block Brake is done (if not even more than that). All the proximity switches and photo eyes have to be installed before the electrical is finished, and I know the Block Brake should have at least 2 photo eyes and 4 proximity switches.
