Hey All - The more and more I think about this, and now that inversions are popping up left and right - How many of you think that row of supports is for a nice long line of zero-G Rolls, just like on Colossus??

Notice the positioning of the supports, and the angles of the lower ones... Can't you almost "see" the track being swirled around??
-Jeff-
A lot of people saw that probably a month ago when those supports were first put up.
I still say that's where the LIM lift goes. The big HUGE supports are for the hill. Check out the aerial and footing pics. There is a nice grid of massive ones that form the supports for the lift. And, you can see all the LIM lift track and crest sitting in the staging area.
Only problem is, what exactly is it spinning towards? Directly in front of it is what looks like a possible station...or something (the bright white square footers)
Promoter of fog.
If there is a station on the lower level, it is gonna be about 20 feet long with a highly banked turn leading into it and a not so steep hill leading away from it. I am probably one of the few willing to say that location will not be the station.

It looks really similar, but the angled supports leading into the of supports are very low, leaving no real purpose for the taller supports on the edges. The barrel roll on Colossus has a few scattered supports down the center, while Maverick has a constant line of supports throughout the center. They also start moving upwards toward the end on Maverick, which doesn't really match a barrel roll unless it was moving up an or down an include in the process. My guess is the middle supports on Maverick are for a pass under the lift hill, assuming there is a lift.
sunfire - what are all those supports for then? i tend to agree that its not the station - or at least ALL of the station, but i can't figure out why there are SO MANY supports right there. i'm sold on the hill being behind liberty inn and UR dead though.

I'd like to ask a question. I guess I'm not up on some of the modern roller coaster technology. What exactly is an LIM lift? Of course, I know what a lift hill is but I always thought of an LIM as a launch like Wicked Twister. Does it launch the train up a hill and over the top? I'd appreciate someone explaining this to me. Thanks.
Yeah, you got it right. Check out California Screamin' on rcdb.com. Rollercoasterpro.com has a POV video of it too if you want to check it out. California Screamin' is an Intamin coaster too.

I think "Project 2007" will be an Intamin looping coaster(Thorpe Park's Colossus). Built in 2002 and having 10 inversions it represents the future of looping roller coasters
http://www.intaminworldwide.com/i_products_roller.htm
Intamin states this as the future on their web site and CP is all about making other parks rides better. This could have 10 inversions +-, also this type of ride runs on the same type of track that is being built for "project 2007". This could be a smaller MF with inversion with a lift hill or a LIM launch. This is way more likely than a 500' drop or Intamin's ball coaster.

They also start moving upwards toward the end on Maverick,
I meant to ask before (I'm glad you inadvertently reminded me *smiles*): How do we know where the beginning & end is on this ride so far? It's 'zigzagging' all over the place already- which really doesn't give a definite beginning or end. Although, it would be a good end to this ride....

Thanks for reminding us two more times on your idea, 2010. You also posted that a day or so ago reminding us what you said. So, I'm guessing half of your posts so far have been the identical thing. Great start!!

is that the first thing you check is to see how many posts someone has made. let it go. he made a mistake *** Edited 8/26/2006 3:08:51 AM UTC by michigan232***
no its not the first thing i check. but, if i've already read the IDENTICAL post of his in two other threads, it gets quite annoying! we get the point that he made a prediction. big deal. we all have guessed as to what the ride will be. but, we all haven't posted over and over again that we said it was going to be "so and so".
Well...not in the same exact format we haven't. Heh Heh. Come on, Halltd- be good. I'm sure he's trying to find a thread that he can get a response/ discussion out of his idea. It's all in good fun...
