Those are probably the points in the dvd where they stick the stock footage.

Does anyone know the actual status of what is going on here? I was there the other day and asked in the photo booth and they said the on ride dvd was in the process of being replaced.

B. Offer each of you guys an replacement product and a complementary treat from us.
Come by our booth at CedarPoint and we’ll replace your DVD with the new re-edited version.
Again I will post a thread as soon as we’ll deploy the new movie.
And then when I asked about this^, they looked at me like I was crazy.

I appreciate your mail and attitude.
In the last two weeks I have been in the field, traveling from one installation of ours to the next, trying to get the grasp on things and finding better ways to enhance our product for you guys.
For that I have personally supervised our Production team at the Cedar Point park.
The footage is ready and is in its last stages of editing.
You comment for the music issue was also taken under advisement and it will be changed – I don’t like it either.

That's funny they call Disney a bargain compared to Cedar Point. Using the couple of examples he provided, it does seem that way. LOL!! It will be interesting to see if Cedar Point puts any pressure on the DVD vendor to at least use stock footage from Cedar Point. With as many videos Cedar Point has on their website alone, it seems like a no brainer to include REAL footage of coasters on this DVD. It sure looks like they dropped the ball on this one.Thankfully I won't be wasting any money on that this summer.
What's really funny is the price they quoted for a ticket to Disney. It's only -that- cheap if you buy a week long pass. Every additional day you purchase, the price gets knocked down. It's only like $.80 more to get a 10 day pass than a 9 day pass over all. But a single day pass for 1 adult is $64.00, and 1 kid is $54. Then there's transportation, and staying in the hotels, or renting a car to drive back and forth from an "off world" hotel (cause, unlike CP, they don't sit 2 miles down the road from every major hotel chain- they sit 15-20 miles away, easily).
I'm guessing if the prices at Disney didn't bother her, they have enough money in the bank that CP wouldn't, either.
In most, but not all, cases price is a sign of quality. You really do get what you pay for. Disney gets away with charging so much money because they go above and beyond guest expectations. Sure, it's a lot of money, but you more than get your money's worth.
You pay about $40 for a day at Cedar Point which is one park (gotta pay extra to get into Soak City) versus around $1600 for a week at Disney, on Disney property, with four theme parks and two water parks among a plethora of other things.
If you pay $40 for admission, don't go into the park with some ridiculous notion that anything you buy within is going to be of far superb quality to anything found at a more expensive park because you'll end up sorely disappointed. Sadly, after working at CP for two summers and then Disney for 8 1/2 months straight, I've discovered that the guests at CP have outrageously high expectations for their day considering the price they paid for admission versus the guests at Disney whose expectations were much more reasonable, believe it or not.
Taking note of the large amount of mass-produced, cookie-cutter, made-in-China crap found at the CP gift shops I'm surprised that this latest action from the Merch department is really shocking so many people. This is a park that sells hoodies that look identical to ones sold at my school with the name of the park plastered on the front instead of the school name and you're honestly expecting them to break outside their norm and give you a well-produced on-ride DVD that goes above and beyond your expectations? Clearly you and I are thinking of two completely different parks. This is obviously an attempt by them to just make some quick cash to keep them back in budget (which I'm sure they're far beyond already) which will turn out by the end of this year to be a complete waste and be gone in 2008. *** Edited 6/19/2007 11:38:56 PM UTC by SRFMatt05***

Clearly you and I are reading two different threads. No one here said anything about wanting an over the top production directed by Robert Rodriguez. Instead we asked to see actual footage of the park we visit instead of stock footage from some other park/ride. Actually... we wanted what we were told we were going to get. I would expect that from any legit business.
