Do not buy the on-ride DVD.

Man I really hope he is who he says he is and this isn't another one of those "impersonator" members. Remember when we had our own "Tony Clark" posting on here? LOL!!

Ask and you shall receive. But I will wait until I have a respnce from CP and CDride in my e-mail before I get to excited. *** Edited 5/15/2007 2:03:19 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***

What a refreshing, great attitude from a company. I will get a video in June when the new product is available, and I hope they have a great season at CP.

That's some really amazing customer service. It sounds like the DVD will be a much better product after these changes are made.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Al, it really says something about your company to come on here and post like that. Your company/product has gone from "ripoff swine" to "very friendly and accomadating to their customers." I will definitely be buying a copy of the DVD later this year (providing the new editing works out nicely), not only for the DVD itself but also to support you and your company.

I agree with John about the cutting between F/T/rider shots. If timed correctly, it could offer an amazing final video of the ride as a whole (not just rider faces or just the third person view).

Would you guys be more intersted in a MTV jumpy clip or a more settled long "the rider" shots?

Could you elaborate?

eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!

Ride on, MrScott!

As a consumer of the DVD I would like to see more shots of the rider and the actual ride I'm riding. I would also like to see less of the "our fear" and "our excitement" graphics during the DVD.

I say have three options at the desk, one of the on ride only, and one of onride and other clips mixed (like the have now). and for maybe a $1 more, the hole onride angle and then some third person views!

Or for no extra cost :)

Albeit rather funny the whole newspaper thing... Probably not the smartest thing to bring onto a ride.

Wow, all in one day you went to Valleyfair, Dorney, Kings Island, and I think Carowinds. Busy guy!

Man that is a classic! Reading a Toledo Blade while on the Raptor, what an idea. Most people would be screaming their heads off but you are quite calm.

Halarious.

What an odd video! Would it have been so hard for them to sync up some off-ride footage of Raptor with the on-ride footage in one continous video?

Exactly! I don't see why they can't have some POV/offride footage, and then just have preselected "empty" spaces that your video slides seemlessly into the finished product. Insert the riders video into any drop or element that would most likely have an embarassing expression on your face.

Probably one of the best editted park videos is this one from Alton Towers that shows of their in-park video service.

this may be one of the worst marketing strategies I have seen in a while. at least make the videos around the park be of Cedar Point... I know your listening Cedar Fair! Or something a little more creative. Even action shots of the ride you are actually on would have been a better choice, maybe?

Cedar Point Lifer, RideOp, Now Park Guest
2008 - Mantis/MF/Skyride
2009 - ATL Raptor
2010 - TL Sweeps
2011 & 2012 - Area 3 Rides Supervisor

I think they should stick with the formula they used for Ripcord and Vertigo. Start with the whole CP introduction, showing everything the park/resort has to offer. Then switch to the actual rider footage. Maybe edit in offride footage like a couple of you have mentioned. As a consumer, I would want a video of my experience on Raptor at Cedar Point. Not what they currently have.

Here's the video from Top Gun at Carowinds:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4aITfpEkgo

It seems to be better, although I would have nixed the whole fighter jet clips

And here's another where it's pretty much just the ride:

So, perhaps this is the way Cedar Point wanted it? It seems apparent to me that CDRide could have done it however the park wished.
