Disappointment

My guess is that too, or that there is a larger in station que than Millie.

The reason yuo guy wait so long for the Raptor is that yuo go at the wrong time. On labor day when I first went on the Raptor the wait wat like anhour and 45 min. But when I went on it again at night the wait was like a half an hour.
Chief Wahoo - You hit the nail right on the head with your money thing. I was accepted into an honor band for my county. We had to audition to get our seating arrangent. Well, I ended up getting to play all 1st music(the best) and 2 soinds second music(okay). I was complaining that I didn't get to play ALL first music, but then I realized I played MOSTLY first music. Sorry if it's off topic, but if somebody didn't understand his money analogy, then this might make more sense.

Anyways, back to a good point, who really does care if it's only L-TH-B? We'll all still ride it anyways. CP wouldn't make a 200ft. L-TH-B. They would throw in more elements. But, since this is 400ft., then I think it will only be L-TH-B. What more can we expect from them?

"Raptor lines are horrible" Sorry to hear that. Longest I can remember our line being is hour and fifteen tops. Raptor Jo, care to back me up on this?

Player, that was just horrible. I understand the analogy but it was just horrible. The money analogy doesn't make sense either. If you are used to getting the best from someone then you tend to expect the best. If you keep getting 10 million dollars from someone then one time they only give you 1 million dollars, then yeah, you might be disappointed. Would you take the money? Of course. Would you be greatful? Yes. Would you spend the money? Yeah. Would you rather have the 10 million that you are used to getting? Yes. That doesn't mean that you don't appreciate them, or think that the person owes you something. You're just used to getting something and there is that initial slight disappointment that you're not getting what you've always gotten.

Since when have Raptor lines been 3 1/2 hours? Who the F%*& waits that long anyways? Of course lines are going to be long on Labor Day. I went to CP over the summer and in a matter of 2 days I road Raptor 5 times (either front or back every time), Mantis 5 times, Millennium Force 4 times, Power Tower 9 times, Wicked Twister 4 times. The longest I waited for any of those rides was Millennium Force and it was 1 1/2. Everything else was under an hour. Raptor was under 30 minutes I twice maybe three times. I don't know why anyone would wait 3 1/2 hours for any ride. I have a horrible time believing that the line was 3 1/2 hours. The line would have to be coming out of the queues and only two trains running. Don't get me wrong, Raptor is my second favorite ride next to Millie but I sure as heck wouldn't wait 3 1/2 hours to ride it, or Millie for that matter. Anyways, enough of my useless posts.

i dont know how you people end up with all of these lines...i just go on tuesdays or thursays and the longest ive waited for mf is 1.5 hrs at 11 at night, longest for mantis 2 hrs, WT 45 min, Raptor 1 hr, mean streak 15 min, gemini10 min, corckscrew what a joke, blue streaks a joke, and ive actually never waited too long for anything. longest ever--2.5 for my first time on mantis**

**(a worthless wait at the time)

But MF still have 1-2hr waits on weekdays! :-(

You might want to keep in mind that MF is the world's best roller coaster... if it's not worth the wait, please don't ride (shorter line for me!) ;)

Andy - Maybe you don't understand. It's not that complicated...

Montu I will back you up on that....I dont buy the whole 3 and a half hours either when you consider that if line is full all of the way back to the entrance it is about one hour and fifteen minutes. I have seen the raptor wait at more than that but it was not very often. I worked raptor for about half of the season w/Montu and if anybody would know the details about a rollercoaster it would be him.

Raptor/Power Tower 2002

Yes, MF was worth the wait because its longer than a mere 20 seconds like #16 is going to be but I expect 30-45 minutes waits or less when kids are back in school and if you can't get a decent number of rides in a day than you are not getting your money's worth. I went to Fright Fest one sunday afternoon and being used to walk-on EVERY sunday at Valleyfair I expected maybe 30-45 minute waits at both parks. This was the year before Raging Bull opened and the SHORTEST line was over an hour. My friend and I only got 4 rides total in the 6+ hours we were there. The LONGEST I've waited for Raging Bull on SEVERAL visits is no more than an hour and this was on opening and closing weekdays. So back to MF I expected 15-45 minute wait during the last week before Labor Day because kids are in school. If CP can add a racing and/or dueling woodie like Lightning Racer, Cyclone Racer or Twisted Twins but break the record for for that typ of coaster maybe we can get some shorter lines and still get plenty of riders. I think the new coaster for 2003 will be awesome because its so high but to wait extremely long muti hour lines is NOT worth a 20-30 second ride. Sure I ride try #16 by getting to the park before it opens and riding it first thing in the morning while grabbing a fastpass to ride but I'd rather wait 2 hrs for MF than 1 1/2 hr for "Dragster"!
I meant to say weekend when I rode RB @ SFGAm!
Player, I get your analogy. Doens't mean I don't think it's a horrible analogy. That's like me sayin, yeah I know what you mean, "the other night my girlfriend was over and we were foolin around. She went down on me and I found myself thinking, well I would rather just have sex. But then I thought, I should be happy that I'm getting what I am."

See, the analogy makes sense, does anyone give a flying f#% ? Probably not. I think the analogy that Wahoo made was pretty self explanatory w/o your sweet little anecdote.

So yes, I understand your analogy. I personally thought it wasn't needed and that it wasn't relevant to anything. It's just my opinion, which isn't worth too much. But yes, I understand what you said.

Peace I'm Out!

Ok then. Sorry. I was just trying to put the analogy in a different form so maybe somebody who didn't understand the money one would understand this. Chief Wahoo made a great point, and I just thought it should be understood by all. I understand your version too...;)

This still boils down to how wrong it is to judge a ride when it isn't even built yet. There's no way to know how this ride is really going to be, so why say you won't wait to ride it. I can recall a few people who wouldn't mind paying $10 extra just to go on a 7 second ride. Too bad that ride is gone now.

Thanks Adam. I actually found a picture of you getting someone's shoe from the lift. I'd like to know why is there none from Mike's key saving?

Montu: What ride are you referring to?

To anyone that is disappointed. PLEASE stay out of line next summer so those of us that are not disappointed can get in more rides with less wait
Frankly, the longest line in the park on any given day is MF. I've seen long lines for Magnum, Raptor, and I heard there was even a 45 minute to an hour wait for Mean Streak once this past season, but lines for those coasters seem to peak and eb.

We had two walk on rides on Raptor on Labor Day. (see trip report)
http://www.guidetothepoint.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=8785

I expect lines for the new ride to be long for the first season. But unless it's a really exciting ride, many people may pass it up in favor of MF as time goes on.

This ride will not be a disappointment to me. If it is a short, l-th-b, I will still get a kick of adrenaline out of it, and like WT, the line will likely be shorter than MF's.

Montu... that opens a painful wound for me... I'm still in mourning over the loss of Vertigo, and I'm sure any of you that were at Millenium Mania in 2001 and rode Vertigo a thousand times for free would have to agree!

The only possible way I could be disappointed with this new ride is if they tear it down before I get to ride it ;)
