Disappointment

I think this topic was one of the best discussed I have seen yet on this board. I thank everyone for being open with their opinion and keeping it to a point. I think this ride with be a great assest to the park no matter what other elements it will/will not include.

Wicked Twister, very unique and fun, only been in for two seasons and the lines are short.

When you rant, please try to rant correctly, not wrongly. Wicked Twister has been in operation for one season, not two.

Thats it, i got it....new people that join, should take a little quiz...to atleast test people if they know anything about here. With andy here who obviously knows SQWAT about cedar point. Stupidety level is at an all time high now. Something has definatly has to be done about all this, there are so many topics here that are going nowhere and were put up because somebody just felt like posting something.

I know "let the moderators do the moderating" but O GOD....I stopped visiting this site as often as i used to because of all the nonsense that goes on here. My biggest disappointment is that GTTP is becoming the way that it is. I used to love coming here and just reading in to what other people has to say. now most of it is BS.

I just read the posts from earlier today and this week... I don't see what is such a big deal about the debate over which parks better, CP or SFMM... when people are only using the argument of one having (or getting) more coasters than the other. To me, the quality of rides is more important than anything. That's exactly why I stopped going to SFWoA... prior to this season, every time I went there, so many rides were broken down that I wasn't sure what to do...

Yes, the need for a "quiz" here is needed more than Coasterbuzz these days. If only they would read for a while and then join instead of joining right in the moment they see the site and wonder why they get yelled at for asking questions.

I'd like to apologize for my one tidbit of information that I mistated. As for Big D goes, you write a post about how all the posts on this board are BS. Look at your post, it's just as much BS as any other post. What information did you provide other than I'm f'n stupid. Seems pretty pointless. Word of advice, don't post when you've been drinking, it takes longer than usual, and you usually screw up. It is kind of fun though. I'll admit that I am stupid, but to make a post about it, that seems pretty stupid as well. I think everyone could tell from that one statement in my entire rant that I am completely incompetent and have no idea what I am talking about. Cedar Point and variety, that's a good point. Which takes me back to my statement about how many quality rides a park has. I park with two rides that are the same is not quality. It's quantity. A park with two rides that are the same is not variety, it's quantity. Although, this ride will be so cool, man, bein launched at 120 some mph, do you realize how insane that is, and by the looks of it right now we might be launched for quite a long period of time, with the alternating track, that alone would be a bad ass ride. Add a rumored 400ft + hill and that equals a ride that should be called "Oops I Crapped My Pants". This ride will be amazing. 400 ft. straight into the air, slowly peeking the top of this top hat which will allow for a view that is unremarkable. You thought the magnum's view was great, just wait til your slowly peaking this 400 ft monster, ps i'm a little tipsy. But yeah, this ride will be so unbelievable. I personally would like more but now that I think about it, the highlight of the ride is going to be the speed and the height. So why mess around with a bunch of other bs. I just hope they at least have two trains runnin, i'm sure they will. I'm gonna go drink some more, talk to y'all later.

Peace Out

acctually i wasnt just focusing on you, In general the stupidety of some people here is amazing.

Cp_bound, That is so right....people should read around first before jumping in. I was reading around on this site since 2000, just coming in for basic information and pictures and stuff. I joined in the beginning of 2001 and had a few problems, but i learned quickly.

Irony is never as funny as it is on GTTP.

LMAO...I don't think I can repond to that...your post says it all. :)

For those of you asking why CP would build this? Hmm, let me think. CP is a business and they are trying to sell more tickets. Will this do it? YES! GASP, you mean they arent building this to please enthusiasts like us who make up maybe 5 to 10% of their business?? What kind of business is that? A good one. (end sarcasm)

I love this definition of a coaster also where it is suppose to coast to a stop using up all its energy. Well, I guess M. Force isnt a coaster either because it slams into the brakes doing about 45mph.

About waiting two hours. Maybe the first week it is open and on a few weekends during the peak time. But given the fact that the ride will be short, and the fact that CP are kings of capacity. I doubdt the wait will be this long very often.

I also agree, you cant say this thing is great or bad at this point. You cannot judge a ride until you have been on it. I would imagine the response will be the same though. Some will love it, some will not. I dont think I have read where anyone is disappointed about the rumored height and speed of this thing. If they are correct. It "should"be on of the biggest rushes of any ride on the planet. Sounds cool to me.

mk468zz I know that would never happen. I was being really sarcastic.

Sarcasm is reserved for those who have been here longer than eight hours. And for those who complete sentences.

Anyhoo, to steer this thing back on topic [sic], i think that you can really talk about disappointment in two respects--those who simply wanted CP to get a different type of ride than this one, and fanboys who feel cheated because their 400-ft rocket coaster isn't also 10,000-ft long.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people fall into the second category.

If the average wait was under 10 minutes the short length of the new ride won't be much of a disappointment BUT the problem is the CP is known to have some of the world's LONGEST lines and waiting even a hour is way too long for such a short ride! The only way I'll ride this is by using a freeway pass and also riding it first thing when the park opens

Uhm... Cedar Point consistantly wins the Golden Ticket award for Best Capacity.

You don't even want to go down that road. Last year all everyone could say was "OMG wicked Twizterr will have NO capacity." It got very annoying very fast. Nobody would listen to reason. It's way too early in the offseason to start that crap again.

But MF still have 1-2hr waits on weekdays! :-(
Yes it sometimes does.. and so does Raptor. But every other ride is never more than 45 minutes.. and thats not bad for being one of the largest amusement parks that has in my opinion four of the best coasters in the world!

Ever been to a Six Flags park?

Raptor lines are horrible...the waits seem longer than the MF at times.

Your right big D, when i was at CP on laborday, we waited 3 and a half hours for Raptor, and only 2 hours for Millie!

Sorry, but I'm not buying that. I don't even want to think about how long Raptor's line would have to be to mean a three hour wait since I've waited in the queues when they were nearly full and it was about an hour. Millie's line was long on Labor Day - probably over two hours because they had the third train off for a good chunk of the day if I remember. Raptor's line was long, but not even coming close to two hours. Also, Raptor's line moves probably 30% faster than MF's since they probably get 1600+ riders per hour while MF probably doesn't even get 1200.

For some reason unbenounced to me, Raptor's line does seem to take a lot longer to get through. Perhaps it's because the lines are smooshed in that blocked in area?
