Compared to Blue Streak, Mine Ride, Corkscrew, etc.

Maybe they should put DT's warehouse over Iron Dragon. Iron Transport Dragon Disaster. Has a nice ring to it.

Its odd to hear people complaining about the Mine Ride being rough or bumpy. It always has had some jerky transistions like a lot of Arrow coasters, but's thats a lot different then being bumpy. Maybe the trains just have a few wheels that need to be replaced.
And it's just as odd to hear some people claiming it to be smooth. Mine ride sure is two-faced, I think it wants us to argue about it to the point where we forget about the debate on whether it should stay or go, that way it can prolong its life as much as it can.
In all honesty, I can't see it lasting much longer. But unlike Disaster transport or Wildcat, I definitely won't miss it. I remember riding that as a kid and wondering if all coasters were that rough (and boring), it's a good thing I decided to listen to Wildcat, DT, and Iron Dragon instead.

It takes up such a samll spot comparred to most roller coasters. What can it be replaced by? If it's a coaster, its gonna be a small one. Which brings us back to the original mine ride.

He did say when compared to the other coasters, and when you do a comparison it does seem like Mine Ride takes up less space, though it's actually pretty close to the sizes of Both Mean streak and Maverick.

I already typed up a big long post about my feelings on Mine Ride, so I'm really not in the mood to re-type them. It essentially comes down to quality and quantity, and of course, space. Before DT and Wildcat left us, we had four transition coasters. Now we have two. The debate on whether or not Mine ride is a good ride is hilarious because it seems like some people ride it and it's smooth and fun, others experience intense pain and find it rather dull, like both my younger and my current self.
We have lost half our transition coasters, so with the loss of quantity comes an overwhelming need in quality. Does Mine Ride make up for the loss of Wildcat and Disaster transport? Is it a smooth, enjoyable experience that will encourage kids to ride bigger rides? Does it utilize the mining theme well? Is it WORTH keeping when the park is in constant need of more space? Apparently not so with DT, apparently not so with Wildcat, and I feel strongly that there's a lot of people out there, including myself, that would say those coasters were a heck of a lot better than Mine Ride is.
It's not going to last, and I guarantee the second a park designer can come up with a new transition coaster that is modern, thrilling, and will make up for the loss of quality transition coasters, Mine Ride will be gone in a heartbeat.
Whats the other transition coaster? Iron Dragon?

Yep. Though you could also consider Blue Streak one, in a way.
And I don't mean to sound so harsh about Mine Ride, but to me it seems so obvious, especially how we see how easily they can wipe rides out.
It would be a small ride like Iron Dragon that they put in it's spot, though.

It wouldn't be a mammoth coaster, sure, but not many family coasters are. Compression and building over water would also help with track length.
There's a lot of potential there for an amazing transition coaster, it has the landscape and the size and even the Mining theme, if they choose to re-use it and really utilize it, in terms of props and indoor sections.
Take it out.....
Favorite Wood: 1. Balder (Liseberg), 2. Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce), 3. Voyage (Holiday World), 4. Phoenix (Knoebels) 5. The Beast (Kings Island)
FavoriteSteel:1.Expedition GeForce (Holiday Park) 2. Rita (Alton Towers) 3.Magnum XL-200 (CP) 4. Nemisis (Alton Towers) 5. X (SFMM)
If they so insist on removing CCMR then they need to build something similar to it with a lower height requirement because a lot of people in my family enjoy that ride.
Favorite coaster: Millennium Force

Actually, looking at your link Mine Ride is nowhere near the size of MS or Maverick. Someone drew the green line over the lagoon and onto Millenium Island--neither of which is territory covered by Mine Ride.
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
^I think the point is, that space could be utilized if CCMR is gone. It is a pretty good sized area. But I'm definitely ok with it staying. And Titandwedebil, losing two coasters in 30+ years gives the impression that they easily wipe rides out?

He thinks CP is like RCT, where they just demolish, drop and plop on a whim every season to make the 0.001% happy.

Well two roller coasters in one year is kinda sad.

WOW, That couldn't be any further from the truth.
If you read my posts you would see how much logic there is in my opinion. I'm not acting on quick impulse thoughts here, I'm forming my observations and thoughts based on a lot of things, all of which I've already posted.
You really must love Mine Ride a lot to ignore everything I say and to deny so heavily that it's on the chopping block. Imagine if Mine Ride was where DT was, now I'm sure they wouldn't take Mine Ride out for the new wing coaster now would they? :)

Right, that's what I was getting at with the outlines.
As for the 30+ year comment, sure it is. CP doesn't gain more space with time, it's a peninsula. What we saw with Wildcat and DT had almost everything to do with space issues. If CP wasn't a peninsula, I guarantee that those rides would still be there, because we wouldn't NEED to remove them for the new ride.
Can you honestly tell me that Mine Ride stayed because it was better than DT and Wildcat? It had nothing to do with quality. Space overuled quality. The only way Mine Ride could last is if it was an outstanding Transition coaster, if it was overwhelmingly popular enough for the park officials to keep from investing in a modern family ride that hits the high standards set by today's riders.
