The orlando parks have figured out that multi-day passes mean bigger business and you could argue that before fast lane you needed at least a two day pass during July/Aug to get everything done.
I just dont agree with the idea that newer = better. Why tear down a mine ride to rebuild a new mine ride? That seems like a waste of resources to me. Just put a little love into CCMR with a little refurb...maybe new trains...and you're good to go.
Its now about improving the quality of our lineup. The mine ride, im sad to say may be overstayIng its welcome. For a starter coaster its awfully rough these days. Its old, as far as a family coaster/ kids coaster the theming is non existent, and the layout leaves much to be desired. They could add something much more exciting there and keep it a family esque ride.
Right, that's how I view it too.
I'm shocked to hear some of you claim Mine Ride as being smooth. I rode it two weeks ago with my friends because we hadn't ridden it in years, and I couldn't believe how rough it was. People complain about Mean streak being rough, they need to go on Mine ride if they want to feel the true sensation of being bruised and beaten by a roller coaster.
But here's the thing, I'm not trying to claim that Mine Ride can't be smooth, I'm just trying to emphasize that it CAN be rough, and by rough I mean incredibly rough.I'm sure we all know that the roughness of a ride can depend on where you sit, your weight, and other various factors. In fact, I was on Mean streak and the very front seat felt like riding on butter, yet the seat RIGHT behind that one almost felt as bad as Mine ride.
My point is, we I don't think we should have coasters, especially family coasters, that can be so rough (depending on where you sit, etc.) in this modern day. Especially now when it's either Mine Ride or Iron dragon for the kids, it's not smart to make them think that all coasters are like Mine Ride in terms of brutality, that definitely doesn't help in encouraging them to ride bigger rides.
Taer it down, it's getting to rough. Under this logic Magnum's days would be numbered after CCMR gets removed. I have given up thinking MS will ever be taken down with as much money a they keep sinking into that thing.

Are you being sarcastic? Excessive Roughness is a great reason to take down a coaster. Sure it's not the only reason, but I never said the only reason to take down mine ride was its roughness, it's certainly a factor though (a huge one, considering how bad that ride can beat you up, especially for a kids coaster).
Who said it was kid's coaster? The point is CCMR is an intermediate ride. You and others on here is saying it's too rough and needs to be torn down. My point it's Magnum is not the smoothest coaster either and should be on the short list to be torn down also., according to your standards that you are setting.

I don't think the lapcars are the only issue, haha. I know the bumpiness I've experienced wasn't just caused by the lap bars. :p

You know, nowadays with modern coasters and modern intermediate rides, there are a lot higher standards from riders as far as roughness goes. No one can deny that CCMR isn't bumpy, just like no one can deny that some may catch a few smooth rides on it. The standards set today make sure that no matter where you sit, you're going to have a ride that is, for the most part, smooth. (as far as metal coasters go)
You seem to be comparing Magnum to Mine ride quite a bit; while Magnum may be as bumpy in some seats (though I know for sure sitting in the middle will guarentee a decent ride), Magnum has a few things Mine Ride doesnt. Magnum isn't an intermediate ride, it is one of many in terms of large rides, if people dont like it they can flock over to Millenium, Dragster, Raptor, etc. Mine ride is one of two, it's either that or Iron Dragon (or BS, if you count that as an intermediate).
Secondly, Mine ride sits on a a larger surface area than Magnum. While Magnum cuts through soak city like a snake, Mine Ride expands over an area in the heart of CP, prime real estate.
I'm going to use the logic that a lot of Mean Streak haters use when I say that Mine Ride is heavily lacking in intermediate coasters when you compare it to others, not only for roughness but for the lack of theming, and even the lack of thrills. Just because it's not a big coaster doesn't mean it can't be more thrilling.
While Mine ride may "pass" as an intermediate coaster, when has CP ever been happy with being average? Now that they lost two great intermediate coasters, the ones they have should be "grand" enough to make up for the losses, would you say you agree?
It's really not saying Mine Ride should go for the heck of it, it's saying Mine Ride to go because it has so much potential to be better when reborn into an experience that is more thrilling, more memorable, and more enjoyable with modern tracks, cars, and theming.
Whatever, me and you just disagree on this.
