Personally, I think they should retrofit the water fountains with a high-rise nozzle so that those annoying people trying to refill their water bottles will have a much easier time of it.
But you know CP would make that an up-charge fountain.

ahahaha since I was a sweep they usually took pity upon my soul and gave me larger cups of water. But when they gave me dixie cups, I would down it and wait for more.

Got my own page on the cedar point blog!!!
I was there last Thursday and while the cups of water werent giant I have to say every time we got one the water was ice cold. Much better then the drinking fountain warm water I expected.
After my glowing comments about the nice ice water cups earlier in the season, the iceless shot glasses have returned, and they made me think poorly of my favorite amusement park.
After two bites of my $5 pretzel, my water was gone, so I went to get another. There are much better ways of handling this issue.
They handed him a bottle of vasoline.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
On a side note, last week at Soak City we got treated with the big glasses.
Guess it all depends on which stand you are at.

It's not that big of a deal. Just ask for more than one and your problem is solved. We have done this more than once, and we have gotten 2 or 3 at a time each.
I agree it is rediculous that they have to save a penny by depriving us of bigger cups, but it definately is better than drinking from the water fountain.
We also asked someone if we could have larger cups, when we were buying pizza. He said no to the Pepsi cups, but he gave us the larger red cups. Maybe all we have to do is ask. :)

"You can buy a pop sir." ;)
What's so irritating about your response is that you and others pretend to care enough about the issue to complain about it for the last year (plus), but haven't put forth any significant effort toward actually getting the issue resolved.
I'd be willing to bet that if those who have such an objection to the issue went to Guest Relations each time you were bothered by getting a small dose of free water, you'd have some sort of resolution by now.

I just order 3 small cups. I have yet to be told no. Even when it's me, ordering 3, my wife, ordering 2, and my two nephews, ordering 2 a piece, for a total of 9, they have always obliged.
Really the only time I order pop is with food. I've found that if I have a shot of water while I'm waiting for the food it makes me less thirsty (obviously), and my wife and I can get buy just splitting one of the huge $5 pops since I don't suck it down right away (because of the shot of water).
I thought it was kind of cool that when you bought a $5 pop this year, you at least got a souvenir cup to drink it in. I'm not sure if they have done this in the past or not. This has been the only year we have been eating inside the park from the food stands.

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
I have written a few letters, and never got a response.
They have comment cards in the park op office, right on the counter. The card says something like "hey John" or something like that on them.

I heard at the Colts new stadium, they have limited the number of water fountains. Sounds like they want people to by there water.
Last time I was was Cedar Point it seems like they have turned down the pressure of the water fountains, down to a little arch. About half of them.

What's irritating about your response is that you're making assumptions about me & others. Pretty much every meaningful issue I've discussed on these boards, I've emailed Cedar Point directly comments / suggestions about.
Looks like crazy horse has contacted Cedar Point directly as welll, so your irritation was unwarranted.
These forums provide additional exposure for issues we have with Cedar Point. If you get enough people riled up about something, the odds of them contacting Cedar Point increase as well. Some Cedar Point employees also frequent these forums.
Many issues I've written to Cedar Point about, as well as having discussed here...have changed for the better. At the beginning of this season with the large water cups with a helping of ice, I felt the issue was resolved. Apparently it is not, and it's time to complain again.
What's that little riddle with the word "assume" again? ;)
Also, if the cost of the cup or service is the issue, which I don't believe it is, I wouldn't be opposed to paying 50 cents to $1 for a nice ice water. I believe Cedar Point doesn't want to do this though, as they'd draw attention that there's an alternative to paying $5 for a drink.
For the record, I also spoke to several employees as well as customer service, and was politely told by all that it was a regulation, and that they would be happy to give me as many cups as I like.
It was also obvious that every person was without a doubt very embarrassed by the policy.
The cost argument makes as much sense as arguing that the Fastpass system left because of the cost of the ink for the stamps. This is simply a dumb decision by someone.
