Dick Kinzel's Revenge! (Shot Glass size Free Water Cups)...

Noooo...That would mean that something might be done about it, and then there would be nothing to complain about.

Chase , I respect that you spend plenty of cash on your family season passes. Which maybe set you back (I don't know your personal finances). I personally cant afford to visit the park more than one day a year, because I dont have that kind of income. I treat Cedar Point, or any entertainment event, as an event. I bring plenty of cash because I expect to pay.But again, that's just me. But in the large picture of things, season passes are the best deal the park offers by far. Thinking what a single admission price is.

The subway $5 dollar thing is a great deal offered around the country. But if you look at the menu board at these same places, the old regular prices can get up there in price. Add a few bucks for CP expenses, and poof I understand the CP price. But anyways, as has been mentioned, nobody's forcing anyone to buy the food they provide. Or at the extreme costs.

I grew up in a different era of time, when people would drink water from just about everywhere. Water wells at the local forest preserve, a garden hose off a house, and oh my god, water fountains. I think the bottled water industry is the craziest thing I've ever seen. But I understand it.People worry about every little thing now, in anything. And best of all, now find attorney's even to complain about it for them. Water is filtered more than it ever has before. Oh well, again solely my own opinion. But the key is all my grandparents seem to have lived just as long drinking it from the sink.

While some may be respectful of others when getting water from a food stand, I again will state a large portion of these KIDS have no care that they are visiting a place of business. Yes, I'm just speaking from my years of experience giving these water glasses out. But the key to me is instead of being thankful that they would do this for a guest, people seem to think it's a god given right. Which just isn't true. The entire thing is an EXPENSE to the park. So I have no problem with them using the cup they choose since they are paying for it, and the labor it requires to fill it. Now I know that someone will say CP doesnt pay for the cups etc. But they are given as a trade off for advertising. So yes they come at a cost. Nothing is free in this world.

Efforts have been made to allow for guests to get water elsewhere. So I personally believe people should be happy with whatever size cup they decide to use.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say we should be thanking the park for a kick to the nuts, but I do agree that the amount of complaining is pretty insane, considering we're talking about free water (that is also available via fountains throughout the park).

And I reiterate that each and every person that takes the time to complain here damn well should have taken the time to make a comment to a park official (i.e. not a concessions lackey).

Man all the complaining about he size of a cup. Not big enough for ya ask for 2 or 3 sheese. You kids are so spoiled. Be glad you get something. Dont like it why dont you try a Six Flags park Im sure there just so much better.

Cedarpoint has the best coasters in the country appreciate that they cost money and they have to make money to pay for them somewhere. You can always leave the park bring food in a cooler drive down the road and go to one of the restaurants. Is it that hard to ask for a few extra cups of water or god forbid drink some warm water from a water fountain is need be.

When i was a kid we got dirty played in dirt drank from water fountains and didnt die imagine that. Many of you complain on here but probably would never ever say something to someone in power at Cedar Point!

Funny, when I was a kid, aside from getting dirty and drinking from hoses, we were also taught how to use commas. :)

I do ask for 2 or 3.

You would be suprised if you went to visit a six flags park or even disney. The drinks are almost $1 cheaper at six flags as seen here...

Notice how you can get 2 bottles of ice water for $5 as well?

At Disney, the drinks are a whopping $2 cheaper than what cedar point is selling drinks for, and they see to be doing just fine with attendance and new attractions. Look here...

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It's not as if there's some sort of contract, implied or otherwise, that says you have to buy food in the park. And if it's park policy to give out free water at the stands, how exactly is it insulting to the park if a guest, you know, takes advantage of that policy?

I have a Costco membership, which is kind of like a season pass I suppose. I sometimes take advantage of the free samples they have everywhere, but I'm under no obligation to buy that product, or any other particular product. Not that it would make too much sense, but I'm free to walk around Costco everyday and never buy anything. My membership expressly grants that privilege. Cedar Point isn't any different. If CF's stock drops, I don't tell myself that it's my fault for buying a pass and being sensible about food while I'm in the park.

There are always apologists for the food service, but 901liveson is taking it to Human Centipede levels.

Cedar Point could always move to the paper cup and jug of water method.

To get their cups for free, Cedar Point could also look into putting advertisements on the cups to get them for free. It would look kinda weird but it would work. http://www.freepapercups.com/

Instead of serving free water at most stands in the park, they could build little water stands where the workers could get the cups ready stuff.

I personally do not have a problem with the cups, but if there is a problem that other people see, they should fix it.

Yesterday in the park they were serving the small cups. Today at SC though they had bigger ones.

It is not the customer's job to worry about how much the profit margin of a place they paid to get in to. As long as they aren't cutting others in line, I don't see any problem with it.
And make no mistake, Cedar Point is not just some carnival, and they are in the business of pampering. They are trying to offer a 'resort experience' and if it takes a freaking cup of ice water to do that, so be it! And if you decide that your customers don't deserve that, all you're buying yourself is a bunch of cranky, dehydrated customers who leave the park feeling tired and irritated.

And I usually stop and take a drink from the drinking fountains, it's not like I'm above them, but you can't really get a good long drink out of them without holding up the line. Besides, the low pressure, warm water, sure leaves me feeling a lot less refreshed and ready to enjoy the park than a cup of ice water does.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Personally, I think they should retrofit the water fountains with a high-rise nozzle so that those annoying people trying to refill their water bottles will have a much easier time of it. I just want to get a quick drink, but the person ahead of me is using the drinking nozzle to try and rinse out and fill a dozen bottles, and because they're using the drinking nozzle it is a really slow process...

And they need to stop unplugging the water fountain across from the Disaster Transport exit.

And while they're at it, reinstall the fountains at the front entrance restrooms.

...and for the love of $DEITY, clean out the drains on the fountains on the front gate Sky Ride building. Those have been clogged for..what...three or four years now?

This situation comes up much more at the gym, but if I'm filling up a bottle, and I see someone coming up behind me who just wants a drink, I let them go ahead. To me, that's just simple courtesy, and it's kind of rude not to show it. Especially with multiple bottles, it is pretty damn rude not to take a break between bottles to let someone get a quick drink.

Someone said before about using plastic cups over again. That is a great idea but they would get crushed. Personally, i don't have a problem with the small plastic cups. If there is a problem with them, go use a water fountain or buy a bottle of waster .

I just brought in bottles and when I was finished crushed them and put them in my pocket. They will fill it up with water for you if you ask. This is much easier than getting several cups, and colder than a water fountain.

The little water cups are a little bit of a bummer. I'm guessing here, but they probably went ahead and were nice, gave away the big cups, saw some really big drops in pop sales and went back to the tiny cups. I didn't have any problem getting 3 tiny cups each time I went up, and my wife and nephews (each in line right with me) were all able to get 2 each.

They just got everyones hopes up with the big cups.

Depends on which water fountain. Back when it was usually plugged in, the one at the Disaster Transport exit was barely above freezing. Fountains behind the Sky Ride station (the ones with the clogged drains), outside the Town Hall museum, and inside the Operations Office are among the coldest on the peninsula, and generally colder than what comes out of the beverage fountains.

On any other site, I am not sure I would want to admit that I know that... :)
