So now its an environmental issue? At a park that uses a ton of electricity and water for pure entertainment purposes?
And whether something is or isn't in poor taste is in the eyes of the beholder. And I suspect CP doesn't really care about that in any event. Its a business decision with an eye to maximizing profits. Some will disagree with the decision that was made. CP understood that and made, presumably, that they thought was the best decision on balance. May be that more people care about the water than they expected. Who knows at this point.
"And I've never claimed otherwise. Not that such a fact would prohibit you from claiming as much."
Yes you do.
You basicly say...deal with it. Bring your own.
"Again, you can keep propping that lame straw man up all you like, but its not helping your argument, or changing my perception of you. But whatever - keep making stuff up if that's what gets you off."
I am not the one being lame and doing all the name calling here. Go get help.
Lol...so now it's about the trees?
When did I ever claim that it was only about X, and not about anything else? See above.
"Its not that I consume less water. I just see no reason to waste the oil/trees it takes to make the cup, when I can get the very same water into my body (or my empty water bottle) without it."
Let me try and stoop to your level..ok...here goes.
Go screw yourself, your a douch bag fanboy, and god forbid if anyone disagrees with me because I am the final word. And if they try and call me out...well I will start calling them names and playing with words.
I think that sums you up.
I guess me and you can agree to disagree.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
What did I "basicly" say again? You keep grandly exaggerating what I say, then refuting it. That's the very definition of a straw man argument.
I say: Its lame that you are making such an unnecessarily big deal out of this.
You say: Why do you think the park can do no wrong? Are you having sex with Dick Kinzel?
Do you honestly not see the problem with this? You're no longer arguing against my position - you're arguing against something totally fabricated, and you keep harping on the name-calling thing, when all I've been doing lately is refuting your argument. Get over it.
Brandon
Who ever said it was a crime to be thirsty? Seems to me that the point of the thread is that at what level is CP expected to service the want/need of its customers to drink "free" water. The park could put in enough water fountains to permit folks to get a drink every 5 minutes and offer free cups of water in your choice of 2, 5, 8, 12, 20, 24 and 32 oz sizes. And everyone would be happy other than maybe the folks who want to drink something every 2 minutes or who want 64 oz cups. Somewhere you need to strike a balance with an eye on profits.
But, Dj - you called him names. I'm assuming he thought you were calling him a straw man. As if, that has something to do with penis size or something.
I'm far from a CP "fanboy" - and I don't seem to see the issue with the water situation. Get a cup, drink it while you're walking, when you come past a water fountain, take 12 seconds to refill it.
You want to talk about a horrible water situation? I went to a concert many years ago in which they REFUSED to give free water to people. They also didn't have water fountains, as it was a "festival" set up of sorts. Keep in mind, this was mostly younger kids who didn't have much money, and couldn't afford $6 for a drink or whatever it was, so they resorted to drinking water out of the sinks in the port-o-trailers. Worse yet, they started fishing used beer cups out of the trash, and filling them with water from the sinks (it wasn't even close to cold, either). Those people, they have a reason to bitch. CP fans, not so much.
Bend over and take your straw man argument. That is getting old.
I am making a big deal out of it because(gasp), it is a big deal to me and many others. Imagine that. And all you keep saying is... so what...it's not a big deal...deal with it....it's there right to do what they want and now it's bad for the trees.
I started making a big deal out of it when you kept trying to shove the "bring your own water" and the "so what" argument into the mix. I get it that it's not something that bothers you. But it bothers some people. Why can't you just leave it at that?
Instead, you just keep going on and on, and it's annoying.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.

Josh, get off Kinzel's jock already. Sheesh.
ADDED:
Crazy, I'm done. You're totally incapable of anything resembling a realistic argument.
Brandon
Exit -- So a bunch of folks went to a concert knowing they would be there for a few hours without making any provisions for drinks (either bringing money to buy drinks or a cooler with drinks to leave in the car)? One, I suspect that those young folks would have been just fine without having anything to drink while at the concert. Two, no wonder the "government will take care of everything" approach is so popular in politics today.
GoBucks, don't try and politicize a completely non-political discussion. It makes you look really, really pathetic.
Brandon
I see people in this thread with the view the CP makes a lot of money so they should be able to give stuff out for free. I see people who acknowledge that they have options but who apparently don't like those options so they want someone else to provide better options to them. And you can see a lot of those same concepts outside this thread. Just an observation.
And I am not trying to politicize anything. I am just trying to make a thread, which over the past several pages has been pretty much nothing but two middle school girls catfighting, a little more interesting. LOL
GoBucks - that's hardly a fair assessment. It should be safe to assume that when you go to a public venue, whether its a sporting arena, a park, a zoo or, yes, even an amusement park, that you can get tap water in some form.
It may be a little warm at first. You may have to wait in line at a drinking fountain or a food stand, and the cup they give you may not be the biggest in the world, but you shouldn't be forced to pay for the same thing because it comes in a fancy bottle.
All places (from restaurants to amusement parks) should be required to provide water free of charge.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Yeah, well, its not a very good observation at all, GoBucks. Some might even call that "trolling".
Brandon
It's obvious that you can't disagree with dj, because he will acuse you of being a troll, and a person incapable of saying anything resembling a realistic argument.
If that fails, he will just insult you .

Jugga -- Why should any business be required to give away anything for free? I think it makes a lot of business sense to do that in certain instances but I see no reason to "require" it. And why can't people be responsible for taking care of themselves? Why is that such a difficult concept?
And I go back to the point I made earlier that Americans have become water idiots.
dj - Put whatever label you like on it.
Not anything, just basic tapwater. Whether they have a drinking fountain a sink or a stand to hand it out. In whatever way the business chooses, fresh tap water should be required to be made available.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I totally agree. They need not make it ice cold or anything, but they should have to at least provide it.
Brandon
But why require tap water to be made available? What is it about tapwater that any business should be required to make it available for free?
