The cedar point police do nothing to enforce the rule. I have seen a bunch of smokers walk right past a cp police officer, and they do nothing.
I did however see a silver tag stop a smoker and told him where the nearest smoking area was.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I think applying a zero tollerance policy would work great. Post a large "enough" sign around the gates and a few around the park. Rules are rules and if you make a rule you must enforce that rule.
The best time was seeing about a group of 5 guys light up directly infront of Kinzel and a bunch of corporate. Didn't say a thing.

Which is exactly why they should just take the signs down.
It was a feel-good decision, but without total, top-down enforcement, there is no point.

You could put an "s" at the end of "rule" in the first sentence if you wanted. I see CPPD guys doing more texting, talking on their phones, and walking around checking out short shorts and bikinis than anything else.
As far as zero tolerance, I'd like to see it for ALL the rules at CP. The only way you get a message across in this day and age is to make a public example out of some people.

In my opinion there's plenty of signs, even a larger sign isn't going to do much, how often do you see people trying to walk into the exit door of a store? :)
If they are going to enforce the rules, another employee station somewhere in the line could work if people would report que-smokers. If it comes to it, it may be a good idea to make an example of some people by removing them from the park, like line jumpers. If they really want to help with smoking designated areas, put them closer to food stalls and bathrooms (behind them or something, not where the smoke would go towards someone eating), this is the time most smokers would be wanting to light up, after eating or waiting for someone.

Especially when the park puts up signs they don't even enforce... like this. ;) I always feel guilty for not paying my toll!

We asked about the new smoking area by Mean Streak and were told the new areas were being tested as they are common areas that people light up in. Notice they are close to the ones that were already in place. If more people use the new area, the old one will be dismantled.
I like the chairs they are using for the smoking area. If you make it inviting, smokers might be more inclined to have a seat.
Speaking of enforcing rules, the rule about lewd clothing could use better enforcement. I've seen some really nasty shirts this year. Plenty with the "F word". The place is filled with kids. What kind of scum ball feels that is appropriate to where to an amusement park. I saw one grandmother walking with her (apparent) grand daughter last month. On the back of sweet old grannies shirt was a list of words that would have made George Carlin proud. Of course my kid spots all of these shirts.
That one's a hard one to enforce unless yet again, you are prepared to get cussed out, then told by someone higher up than you that they can stay in the park anyways.
Imagine trying to approach someone and saying "excuse me sir/ma'am, your shirt is not family friendly, and you are either going to have to change shirts or leave the park". It's in the guidelines, and it is their fault, but nobody likes to be told that they are going to have to leave the park that they paid blah blah blah to get into. I think that issue should be handled by admissions people, because they should not have been able to get in the park in the first place. Once they are in, the damage has already been done.

I know, I know, zombie thread. Just saw a story on Fox 8 News where Disney is instituting a new policy regarding smoking and vaping. Beginning in May, Disneyland and Disneyworld Parks will no longer permit smoking and vaping inside of their parks. It stated that any employee who observes someone smoking/vaping must ask the guest to do so at designated areas outside the park.
Wonder if other Amusement/Theme parks will mimic the Disney policy. CP of course has quite a few designated smoking areas, it wouldn't bother me if they kept it that way. Seems like lawmakers or policy makers these days treat vaping just as they do smoking. I do neither, just an observation.
