Demon Drop 1983-2009

This was back in 1989 I think. Yeah had to be. Magnum was new that year. We asked if they would do that and they declined citing possible damage to my car. I even asked for a coat hanger and they still declined. It was a 1986 Pontiac STE, I could have gotten in with a straw if I tried hard enough. Oh well. Its a funny memory I'll never forget.

I lost mine years ago on mantis.

It was a miracle, they landed on a footer right next to the water. I thought the pond ate them and they were gone for good.I did not know this till after we were out by my car 2 hours after the park closed for the night, and a security officer brought them to me.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It was already said that Demon Drop will keep its same name and theme at Knotts.

From Vindy.com...

Article.

Love the comment on it, because that's clearly against park rules and regulations.

Eh, everyone's done the dime trick on Demon Drop at some point.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

That's ridiculous! I would never take a dime on Demon Drop! I always use a nickle. ;) In my opinion a dimes low mass/weight and causes it to go to high and a quarters higher mas/weight doesn't let it get off your leg enough. My experience has shown a nickle to be the best for floating right in front of your face.

If I was a ride at CP, I wouldn't mind being Demon Drop. It's moving out west to a year-round warm climate! ;)

Hopefully Knots Berry Farm won't mind the maintenance it might need. Other than that, the fans might be upset now, but they'll enjoy it once they ride it spring 2010.

Well, I'm carving a Demon Drop pumpkin this year in honor of it's departure. haha :)

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

For the last weekend is it alright if we bring Sharpies and sign the inside of the cars? Would be cool to sign the ride and when its shipped over people could see how much it was loved. Or they can just clean it....

What are you trying to do, make them do extra work on the ride?

Reminds me of the playground at my old elementary school. Stuff written in Sharpie all over the place.

Man, you guys and your nickels and dimes. Everyone knows to use a penny, to save money - I thought that was common knowledge, even BEFORE the recession.

I was on th eDemon drop yesterday! i am really going to miss it! I was told that they are going to start taking apart next Monday right after the season is done! So sad!!!!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

What's an eDemon Drop? Is that some sort of virtual drop ride? ;)

So what's the buzz on the Knott's end about this? I could not find a fan site/discussion forum for that park anywhere.

Imagine this being CP's new addition...there would be outcry, pitchforks, and fire involved.

What are customers/fans of Knott's saying about DD coming to their park?

Promoter of fog.

Remember waiting over 45 minutes to ride DD on a busy day, just baking in that queue? Looking at that early 80's photo of the twins and girl in the ESPRIT shirt with the Olivia Newton-John sweatband and haircut brings back memories. Thanks for the link to the photo! ^(it's way back)^

I tend to be a contra - hitting in the rear of the park first and arriving up front around 2pm, when Blue Streak and DD frequently are walk-ons. That will be missed.

Hope to see some of you PBzzers this Sunday. Don't know what I'll be wearing for sure but with temps in the mid-40's the attire likely will include a watch cap to keep my ears toasty.

(rehearsing - Please stop - I want that ticket....)

Just say no to trims

Yeah most people who are reading from their point of view think this is a silly addition for Knots. They think that Cedar Fair is giving them the short end of the deal here. I don't know why because the past couple years, other parks have been getting hand me downs from Geauga Lake. This year Carowinds was given the former Head Spin. Dominator was sent to Kings Dominion in 2008 along with Thunder Hawk going to Michigan Adventure's the same year. So they should be happy they're getting something. Plus they'll like this ride. :)
