Crazy things you hear while waiting in line...

Well this wasn't in line. It was by the fence where Top Thrill Dragster launch pad is. Anyway, my friend from Minnesota likes to start a conversation with people on the train just before the train takes off. It's hilarious!!

I over heard a grown adult say how intense Iron Dragon was today. Lol

I was at Mall of America with a friend; he refused to ride the roller coaster because it was too scary.

I mean, it's the scariest ride in the park. The first drop is super intense....

I've gotta say that I like the first drop on Iron Dragon sitting in the back car, I get a stomach dropping feeling that not even Valravn or Maverick matches. Not saying it's intense, but nonetheless I really do enjoy Iron Dragon.

I've heard a surprising amount of people confuse Gatekeeper with Valravn... How that is possible is beyond me.

Iron Dragon does have an excellent drop. I see lots of adults having a great time on Iron Dragon, it is a fun ride and I can certainly see how someone without a lot of coaster riding experience would find it very thrilling.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Well Gatekeeper was confused with Windseeker during the announcement... so It's possible.

I am also guilty of calling GateKeeper Windseeker for a couple of weeks after the announcement. I dunno, they just sounded similar, haha.

Every time I ride ID, I really, really enjoy the part between the second lift and the station. The swinging cars, the spiral over the water.... great fun.

I love it too. I know it's old and slow (Draggin' Iron!) in comparison to a lot of its larger, flashier brethren, but dangit, it was THE new coaster at the time I first started going to CP and was just big enough to enjoy some of the coasters. (I was six. Man how time flies.)

It'll always have a special place in my heart for that reason. It'd be nice if they gave it back its old silver paintjob, though.

Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.

Waiting for TTD, and the guy next to me points to the new water tower and says "Look at the ropes, must be a big new swing ride they are putting in". I just turned around and rolled my eyes.

I honestly don't think I could have controlled myself for that one. I would have had to tell him it's a water tower. There's no way I could have kept that to myself.

When asked what it was yesterday I said it was a water tower and no one believed me. I explained the water main break and they still thought it was something bigger. Got to love people.

While in the line for maverick, I overheard a conversation between a couple of people when they gave this line of dialogue that made me chuckle inside: "do you know what happened to the mantis?" "I don't know, I think they took it out before they put in the new one." "You're probably right."

I guess you could call me nitpicky, but how can you not realize that it's still in the same exact spot and looks exactly the same minus the paint job and the train?

The other night they closed Magnum for a short period to transfer the 3rd train off. I was waiting by the entrance and one woman, after being told it was closed, asked "even if were platinum pass holders?"

I wish my pass had the magical powers she thinks hers has.

First ride; Magnum 1994

The most rediculous thing I have ever heard was on the Rougarou lift with a group in the row in front of me.

"Did you know that loop is the one that was used in Son of Beast at Kings Land? When that ride was closed down, they moved the loop here, and put it on Roudabegger (pretty sure they meant Rougarou) and just repainted it, so no one could tell the difference."

Exact quotes, "Kings Land" and all.

I heard several people saying they were at Cedar Point "to ride the new coaster. It's the tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster in the WORLD." Um, Valravn is not even the tallest, fastest, or longest in the PARK. I love how people will selectively hear only the parts they want to hear, in this case omitting DIVE coaster.

the gp will always look at "biggest and fastest" and ignore anything else. That's how these big amusement parks get their money. Marketing 101

Shane, I have heard that so many times, and half the time I hear people complaining that it wasn't even taller than Power Tower/Windseeker. Crazy how ignorant the GP can be.
