Yep. It's easy to think that Cedar Point is the sole attraction that the Lake Erie shore has to offer. The islands, golf courses, sailing, wineries, historical sites, there's more than just the park and few of those would be available in the winter months.

I'm only posting this because it's 4:00pm EST on Sunday, and not a single other person has posted today.
I couldn't let this website go a full day without a post. That's just wrong....

No dome please...the idea of year round riding may be enticing but there's a reason I hate the IX indoor amusement park. Once you enclose it all the ambient sound of a park just bounces off the walls and reverberates all over into this weird low key rumble that gives my ADHD brain a sensory overload. By the time I left my last attempt at IX I just wanted to be left alone and crawl out of my skin. Haven't gone back since and trained my kids to not even ask. Can you imagine what Cedar Point would feel like if the sound couldn't escape into the atmosphere?
And don't forget, Cedar Point would have to sell like 7 dippin' dots just to afford the cost of the dome.

There is still one MAJOR issue. STAFFING! Cedar Point has a hard enough time staffing the park at the beginning and end of season. Staffing all year round would just be impossible.
there are plenty of parks that operate year-round with adequate staffing.
Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over
And most of those are located right near a major city with a huge population. Cedar Point is not. That's why many employees live on site during the season.

^^Also why would you want CP open year round.

I'm a little hardier about the weather than some so if they extended theseason a bit at both ends I'm sure I would go but January, February, and March are a toatal no go. Not gonna happen. December and april would be terribly iffy and November this year would have been awesome but last year no thanks.... just accept that we're in Ohio and year 'round Cedar Point is not to be...

I don't want cp to operate year round. I just think staffing wouldn't be an issue if they did decide to build a dome for some reason.
Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over
.....and in the extraordinarily unlikely case that they did build a dome over the park, why would you think that staffing wouldn't be a problem for a park that relies so heavily on employees with restrictions on their availability (college students)?

The flip side is it would be easier to find employees without restrictions if full time employment were offered...
I'm not saying it's a good idea (It isn't)... But if you move from being a seasonal business to a year round business, you would do well to seek year round employees instead of seasonal ones...
Well, then the question would become finding enough employees to man the park, as that kind of demands that employees be locals.

While not year round, Dollywood is open from March to early January and has no problem with staffing that I saw. They lady that did the test ride on Thunderhead and then checked my belt on the first train had to be in her late 60's though! The people are out there they just have to find them.

While we're going on this line of thinking, would the dome be retractable or a permanent fixture? The former begs the question of where it would retract TO, and if it's permanent, you rob the property of its beach.
