In line for gatekeeper on closing day and there was a teenage group behind me discussing the coasters. They were having a heated debate over the tallest/fastest coasters in the park. They managed to agree that dragster wasn't the tallest coaster in the park but it was probably the fastest. I stopped listening after that.
Disaster Transport is taller than Dragster... or is it Wildcat?
While working Magnum fast lane on a slow day, a guest approached me, and started singing "Shut up and Dance" into my height stick...while I was still holding it . It made me chuckle.

This wasn't in line. Or even in the prk, but in a YouTube video.
"This (maverick) was going to have another loop, then Cedar Point didn't put it in because it cost too much."
Oh, the misinformation as well as the stupidity.
Also, does anyone else wish that Maverick would have all the theming it had in the animation video?

Closing Day, on Mean Streak, I heard a man telling his young riding companion, the (lift) chain is the 'old fashioned' kind. Made me chuckle a bit.
Keep passing the fun along!
Why, in my day, we had to walk up the lift hill! By gummy, no fancy "chains" for us!
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

If I had a guess this was a Coaster Studios video, right? Maybe? :)
^ No, it was a TPR POV of Maverick.

I don't recall any theming elements Maverick had in any animation that it doesn't have.
Promoter of fog.
I just rewatched the animation last night and was commenting the same thing about the theming that was never installed.
Some more canyons and these mine looking "support" beams (best description I have for them) were in the video. Otherwise I think Maverick nailed it. Just wish the water bombs still worked good.

There were also mine shaft like wooden beams that the coaster went through on the turn into the first corkscrew. Also, it had an area that was all black to look like a coal mine.

I think there was also a water feature that sprayed an arch of water over the track.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
There was also a mine shaft on the first turn after the drop, along with tunnels in some of the rocks.

This happens on a somewhat regular basis, not a just on a specific occasion. I have seen various guests look at the time on the wait time board and say. "The wait for this ride is 1/4 of a hour, so the wait time is 25 minutes..."
It must be the new common core math.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
At Maverick a child is too small to ride. The father of the child quickly became upset and said to me, "You guys (the ride hosts) just make that up so our kids cant ride and ruin our day!" I can assure you we don't put that much effort in making sure you have a bad day.

I often at times get told by my co-workers that Cedar Point should just put a big dome over the park. That way it can be open year round. My thought is you would still have to feel the cold weather elements.
In a fantasy world, let's just say you COULD build a dome over the park. There is still one MAJOR issue. STAFFING! Cedar Point has a hard enough time staffing the park at the beginning and end of season. Staffing all year round would just be impossible.
I'm too sexy for my harness!
Another problem is the market. I don't think putting a dome over the park would draw that big of a crowd during the winter. It would probably just be locals that would go during that time. Not many people would travel to northern Ohio during the winter months. Just putting a dome over the park would only solve the weather problem directly over the park. You can still have blizzards and hazardous driving conditions outside the park. Cedar Point on it's own wouldn't draw a huge crowd. During the summer, you also got the islands and all other Lake activities. All those combined make a nice few day getaway.
