His post didn't really scream judgement to me.

I'm sorry I gave you that impressions RCMAC. I'll try to tone it down a bit. I will admit in this forum that I have been critical of smokers breaking the rules and questioned the judgment of taking service dogs into a haunted maze. I'm not sure how that makes me sit in constant judgment, but in the limited space/exposure you have had with me, I suppose that's a possible conclusion to reach.
I was not questioning the legitimacy of the service dog, I was merely replying to the previous comment confirming that most service dogs ARE NOT seeing-eye-dogs and that many people generally have that misconception. I chose not to elaborate to the extent that you did, but did educate myself recently on the subject. I just thought it was a "crazy thing to hear in line" and figured it was worthwhile to share under that topic. I apparently was incorrect.
I will not apologize for not wanting to be in a dark maze with strobe lighting and weird sounds and "creatures" jumping out from dark corners, while in close proximity of two very large dogs -- service dogs or otherwise. Even so, I will do my best (but do not promise) to keep my criticisms to myself and try to ignore the things I see at the park that bother me.

RCMAC I usually find your posts informative and agree with you, This time however, I must disagree. I did not find Rusty's post judgmental. I found it informative and well stated. Just like humans, dogs can be startled and react. Their reaction is not always good for us.
I was being harsh, I know. Our posts overlapped, Rusty, so I'm glad to see you took the time to do a little research about service animals. Truthfully, I didn't understand the relevance of your post or why it was important to even mention.
We buried a dear friend 2 weeks ago, I have another who will probably not last another day, and my dog died Friday. Not that that should be a concern of anyone here, but to put my crankiness into perspective, sometimes I get fed up to here listening to people complain about a whole lotta nothing.
Maybe this is clearly not the place for me to be spending a lot of time these days. See ya.
Emotional support animals exist also, not just in dog form. People are bringing ducks, hamsters, and all kinds of other animals into non-animal friendly areas (i.e. airplanes) for emotional support.
RCMAC,
You have my sympathies for your recent losses. I understand and have experienced the loss of close family or friends and of pets. Just know that nothing in my earlier posts was intended to belittle or show any disrespect. It was truly intended as just an observation of something I overheard while in line.

Great. Next someone will get the bright idea to bring snakes on a plane.
That was the most peacefully settled dispute in the history of this forum. (:

I think it's best that the group went through by themselves without any strangers. It is an odd environment to take a service dog into. I would be worried about the close quarters and people or the dogs being accidentally injured. I know a wheel chair but probably not a scooter will fit through Zombie High because a group behind us was using one once for a teen girl with a wrapped up ankle. I want for everyone to have fun (my job is working with the disabled) but it was very frustrating that what appeared to be her younger brother was pushing her and the more frightened he became the faster he pushed...right into my heels over and over. About halfway through I had to turn around and tell them they needed to back up because constantly getting run into was starting to really hurt.
In line for Eden Musee last night, this woman in front of my friend and me overheard us talking about RMC Mean Streak. She then said in possibly the most condescending tone possible "my friend told me there's nothing being done to Mean Streak, and she works there, so it's definitely right." I then began to explain they were taking out the track and not all the structure, and showed her pictures of the track. I then pointed out the RMC crane that was in plain sight right in front of us. She said RMC was the deconstruction company and that her friend was always right and all that.

I would have lost it.
I guess her confidence in her friend is going to take a hit.

I wonder what her friend has to say about the supports they've added...adding pieces isn't usually part of tearing down.
Her friend works at the lemon chill stand. They must be right.

This wasn't in line, or even at the park, but I had an irate YouTube commenter try to tell me that the new slides at CP Shores were actually relocated from WildWater Kingdom. Err...since when did Geauga Lake have trapdoor slides?! (Rhetorical question, FYI.)
All those school kids on field trips are interesting. Monday I saw a crazy thing while waiting in line at Wicked Twister. There were six rambunctious boys swimming in 52 degree Lake Erie. I was cold just looking at them. Of course, on second thought I probably would have been one of them back in the day.
A few moments later the two high school girls behind us in line looked out at the beautiful lake and one says "I wonder if there are sharks in that water", the other girl replies "I don't know, there are sharks in the ocean and that looks like an ocean." I will not mention which school they were from.
While on the steps leading up to the Mean Streak platform a young-ish mother told her kid "the ocean is so big, just think, that is the same ocean we have back in Florida!".
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I was told recently by a man when I mentioned I am a Cedar Point fan...
"I am so glad they reopened that place. You know back in the 90's it closed down for about ten years. I was there the last year it was open... they have the best rides ever."
Is it bad that I just kind of smile and nod when I'm told these crazy things? It's better than trying to correct the logic.
