It's funny that the showers are so awful you actually make notes on which ones have the best pressure and most even spray. The sad kind of funny, but funny none the less.

Good luck with that! :)
They are not friendly over there huh.
99er, you seem like a nice person. Send me your address and I will sendyou some chlorine based shock from my personal pool supply.
You can also utilize copper or bromine based solutions. They kick the hell out of invertebrates.
They used to be ... when I worked there... but that was back in 98/99
I'd choose Commons over Cedars, it makes it easier to hang out with your crew, and you don't have to leave Louie's early. Plus it's the best and you learn to love it. If your a quiet person, I'd suggest Cedars though, or Baysides, because it's not as.... interesting there. And the showers aren't that bad, as long as you wear flip flops or something of that sort, and have lysol to spray the bed with before you sleep on it the first night. And just use common sense. Haha. I never caught anything, a lot of people over dramatize commons. It's not that bad. I miss Cedar Point.... = ].

I'll never forget showering in Cedars when all of a sudden, I noticed an old, old man in the stall across from me peering at me through the crack in the stalls. After he noticed I saw him, he quickly packed up and walked out the fire exit.
Cedars is disgusting. Live in Commons, the lesser evil.

so im new to dorm living and i hate hate hate public bathrooms.
i hear to bring sandals but how often are the dorm bathrooms cleaned in commons
and are they as trashed as everyone makes them out to be?
also is the whole commons dorm girls on one floor and boys on another type of deal so each floor gets its own bathroom?
im trying to stock up on the lysol ; ]
also what are the rooms like in commons?
depends, some bathrooms can be not bad, and some I would rather just not shower at all.

The dorm bathrooms are cleaned daily, but some do get trashed as soon as they are cleaned, but some dont get trashed much. There is more than one so if the first one is bad move to second.
1500 is 1 floor guys and the rest girls. I think the 1400 is all guys and 1300 is all girls.
The rooms have brick walls, they are longer than wide. They look like a prison they have 2 sets of bunk beds, 4 lockers and a little desk from what i remember.
awesome!
im trying to get a picture in my head of what to bring and what not to- as i said this is my first time dealing with dorms and i live up in Michigan and dont want to drive 2 hrs back in case i forgot something. ive been using the lists people have been posting but i cant help but ask- are there room for floor fans? or mini fridges?

Well, they do have a Wal-Mart! Not like you can't just go buy it there. CP IS in a town.

250 is the main road that goes through town. There's Walmart, Meijer, Target and a million restaurants. Definitely bring a mini-fridge. It's about the only way you can escape from constantly eating cafeteria food or fast food. Space for fans can be kind of cramped. I bought a small 4 inch fan for $5 at Walmart last summer and duct taped it above my bed since I was on the lower bunk. It worked out well.
