Coming in 2018: An expanded beach boardwalk that will link the park's main parking lot to the beach, Hotel Breakers and Cedar Point Shores.

Well, that’s a good idea. If patrons can park up front it might be ease some of that traffic and parking concern they have back there at the Shores lot. It’s a long walk, but maybe a scenic one at the least.
And hey, all you nay-sayers. It seems that if it weren’t for FL and FL+ sales you might not be looking at rides like Steel Vengeance. Hmmmmm.
Quite literally:
...the revenue from the pass that allows Cedar Point and other parks to continue to build bigger and better rides.
"You have to realize that those people are paying for Steel Vengeance," he said, referencing the massive new roller coaster that is under construction at Cedar Point.
So next time someone walks past you in the Fast Lane line, turn and say "thank you".
While kissing their tenderly extended hand.
Promoter of fog.
No need to remove the stadium or WT since the boardwalk will be outside/along the outer park boundaries. The current boardwalk stretches from Sandcastle Suites down to the area around Windseeker. My questions are the following: Will the cement area behind Windseeker (by the Parasail rental office) just be expanded over east toward the main parking lot? What will CP do to attract visitors that park in the main lot to this new entrance gate ( I can't see how guests will see it ( this new gate ) way up in the corner by Gatekeeper, I'm assuming that's where it's going to be placed). Will there be another security checkpoint w/metal detectors like the Windseeker gate?, Also are there going to be any shops, food, flat rides along this new path or is it just going to be a quiet path like the current beach/Breakers area? On that note: will the current boardwalk area become more congested due to this expansion? This might alleviate some of the foot traffic for people entering/exiting the park and free up some more Breakers and its expansion parking for 2018. Should be interesting.

Hm on the WinterFest aspect of the article. Canda's Wonderland which is more snowy and cold than Sandusky could get it but ehhh, those winds off of Lake Erie in November and especially December, I don't know if it could be all that feasible.
Canada's wonderland also has 6.5 million people within a half an hour drive to draw employees and guests from. I'm not holding my breath for Winterfest at CP. To be honest, I probably wouldn't go anyway because I hate driving in winter weather and from many accounts and as you said, CP is not a very nice place during the winter.

I think if they can figure out staffing and what the management team thinks they can open for a draw, Winterfest at CP will be a possibility. The few times I’ve been out to the park in the winter have been enjoyable. I’ve seen everything from windy, cold and snowy to mild temps. I mean, it is Winterfest.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Winterfest at Kings Island this year and then visiting Dollywood in December.

^ Exactly.
No new entrance is needed. If patrons use the new Boardwalk to access the beach, they will use the current entrance near Windseeker to access the park.
It would be cool, however, if the park added a few outside shops. I envision a surf/sundries type shop with bathing suits, souvenirs, etc. as well as a snack shop/beach bar.
If the stadium was razed, I could see a Bathhouse built. It could have changing stations, showers, etc. for those patrons using the beach but not staying at Breakers.... ALSO, as a Breakers guest.. (I usually stay 2-3 nights each summer from Florida) it would be nice to have a bathhouse simply because I like using the beach before checkout and after checkout... just a possibility.
^^ A bathhouse or at least restrooms with stalls large enough to change in would be nice since they removed the bathroom access over by shores. I don't think there's anywhere for someone not staying on point to change by the beach without entering either of the parks anymore at least not one that's obvious.
