Great news! I hope the fountain drink locations offer Coke Zero as one of the choices.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Fountain drinks for coke are
Coke
Coke Zero
Diet
Sprite
Odd and end flavors maybe offered
Barqs root beer
Fanta
Cherrry coke
Specialty
Powerade mountain blast (Blue)
Powerade fruit punch (red)
Other novelty vitamin water most likely will see XXX and XXX 0 maybe Power C Revive Energy or Squeezed.
Monster will make an appearance as well.
I'm a Coca Cola employee.
As a fan of Pepsi (unless there's whiskey or rum involved), I expected to be more bummed. But I can't remember the last time I got soda in the park, so... *shrug*.

Can you imagine what it is going to take to switch the entire park from Pepsi to Coke? Holy cow.....
Hopefully they'll have Barqs or even better, Freestyle machines. Otherwise, I will definitely be buying less pop. There's no real Coke equivalent to Mt. Dew.

I'm happy to hear about this. I haven't been drinking as much Coke lately due to health reasons, but I've long chosen Coke in the Pepsi challenge. Gonna miss Gatorade, but Powerade's ok I guess. I wonder if Rockstar drinks will still be around. If they get replaced by Monsters, my son will be very happy...

I was wondering about this yesterday! I'll miss Mountain Dew but that's about it. As long as there's Cherry Coke available in some vending machines or restaurants I'll be happy.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Not that big a deal, switchovers are done frequently enough that the providers have it down to a science, especially during the off season. Now try doing it when the parks are open for business. That was done recently when SeaWorld switched to Coke from Pepsi. Literally down over night in San Diego.
I hear that there will be Freestyle machines at certain full-service restaurant locations. No idea which ones.

IIRC, Dr Pepper is independent of Coke and Pepsi. They could have it now if they wanted.

As someone who goes to a "Coke School", I can assure you that if this does go though, you will never even hear the name Pepsi uttered in the parks again, or at any property managed by the parks or the chain. The way it works here is that Coke has 100% of the rights at any time, any place, within the boundries of campus.
It goes so far as that employees are not even allowed to drink Pepsi products in uniform. I'm not sure if Pepsi has the same deal, but I know Coke is VERY strict about even allowing anything that isn't a Coke product for offical events.
This more-over goes back to the person who said Luminosity could still be powered by Pepsi. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.
Excellent change, and it looks like most are happy for once. Though I prefer the Coke family of products, my only complaint about Coke fountain drink machines is that the common selection lacks variety. I've noticed most Coke fountain machines are like "Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, Sprite, Powerade."
It'd be really nice if the common selection was alternated around the park to include Mello Yello, Fanta, Barq's, etc. I guess the Coke Freestyle machines will fix this complaint, but I wonder if they'll only have a couple.
Anyway, I tend to avoid pop, but it will at least be nice to see one of my favorite brands around the park. I wonder if we'll see a bunch of Cedar Fair ticket promotions through My Coke Rewards like they do with Six Flags.
Freestyle machines are way cool!
The problem is, at least in a self-serve setting, most people are too retarded to figure them out.
I have long advocated that "u-scan" grocery store lanes need to have an age limit, ie nobody over 45 or something. We've all waited way too long while an elderly person struggles to figure out how to scan their baked beans.
Our local Pei Wei has a Freestyle machine and waiting in line for a refill is just painful. While there last week, this old lady just kept putting more ice into her cup and couldn't figure out why there wasn't any soda. Fortunately, there was a seven year old behind her to show her how to use it.
The one Pepsi product I'd probably miss the most is the Raspberry Brisk.
Kings Island seems to have a good variety in many of their bigger food stands. Having Mello Yello, Fanta, fruit punch or lemonade on top of the regular choices. The other thing that I hope comes to Cedar Point if this change happens is the "Marketplace" type stands that the Paramount parks have, where they have the more permanent outdoor stand opposed to the rolling Pepsi cart of ice.

BGSU just received a Freestyle machine in their student union. Apparently it was hard to find a distributor because most of the flavors offered are rare and are not found in this section of the country. They have to import the flavors from a different state distributor.
After using this machine, I have to say it made me drink pop again. It is simply fun and cool to try unique flavors like Coke Orange or Coke Raspberry.
Coke also owns Minute Maid so possibly they will offer lemonade as well.
