The cost will be $30, and there will be a cruise around the park in a boat, photo contest, film festival, lunch, lots of ERT and more. Tickets are not available yet.

Should be a great event. Love the Jet Express cruise and lots of ERT. Hilarious that Tony made mention of the parking garage. Price point for Coastermania is good for everything included.

haha of course the year I'm not going is when they bring back the boat cruise! At least I got to cruise in 2014. Well, have fun, folks. Maybe next year if they make it a free event.
I agree. Looks much better this year. Hopefully the limit and upcharge will eliminate alot of the issues. If they didn't make these changes this year, I would probably skip it. Last year was my first one and I found it to be a little on the meh side. I'm more than willing to pay $30 to attend.

Read the description for the CoasterMania! Q&A section:
We're bringing "the suits" to this special session where YOU get to grill them and ask them questions. Why did we decide to build Valravn? Why didn't we put that tunnel in? Why can't we build into Lake Erie? Where's that parking garage? How about that 500-foot-tall coaster? Let's see what they say!
Sounds like they spent a couple minutes scrolling through the PointBuzz forums.
Where else do you think the park gets its inspirations for new rides? Im sure Rob Decker lurks here searching for new ride ideas.

The changes this year sound good. I haven't been to a Coastérmania in about 10 years, but am going this year. Sounds like the "E" may once again be a part of "ERT". Have not done a cruise, either.
I'm hoping they can work out a better system to register. The lines were confusing last year and heard complaining the entire time in line. With large crowds, not everyone is going to be happy! We're there to have fun. Chill!!!

Sounds like you will print your ticket at home. That will make the check-in go alot faster this year.

Great! Just read that and should make the morning rush go quicker! Thanks for the heads up!

It should help, but I would still get there plenty early. lol I would think also having the clubs verify membership ahead of time will speed things along as well. It will be interesting to see how many people show up thinking things are as they had been in the past or that they could buy a ticket on site. I'll bet it's more than a few. Seriously, if people couldn't follow Tony's simple instructions last year, what are the odds that they actually read the part about having to buy a ticket?
^ I agree with you buddy. I bet a lot of people didn't follow the instructions last year and when they got up to the window, they were all like "Uh, Oh. I didn't know that, Hu huh". Seriously though, I feel what the park feels when it comes to complaints. When I was waiting in line last year, it killed me hearing a bunch of people complain. I'm with Thabto on being happy to pay the $30 fee this year.
I'm sure there always be a handful of people showing up without the proper credentials. Now that the event costs money, and will likely sell out long before the morning of the event, there's no way the park will allow those who are unaware of the instructions and cost to still get in like last year. It will provide some entertainment while I wait in line to watch them get turned away this time. I'm not expecting any "complainers" anymore either. The itinerary spells out every part of the event, down to the food choices and the event t-shirt. There's nothing left to complain about. This event can't get here fast enough!

I think $30 is a steal for this event. The boat ride alone is worth that.

That 3 minute time limit for the Film Festival is making me rethink my short and how to go about it. It use to be 5 minutes and I planned a short to fill a 5 min limit. But I understand the want for a shorter time limit seeing that it can get tiring sifting through a ton of 5 minute videos. :P

During his presentation at No Coaster, Tony noted that the 2015 Coastermania just plain had too many people.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
I think they might have goofed up on the resort reservation days. I think they should be on June 2nd and 3rd, not the 3rd and 4th. Is that an error? At least that's how I think it was last year. I think they should offer a special for the night before since that's the night most of us would need the hotels.
I tried checking out the Sandcastle deal and it didn't work. But the Breakers and BE did. Maybe it's sold out at Sandcastle, but I think the days they are offering the deals are wrong. Why would I need a hotel for the day after Coastermania? I would be leaving the next morning after it was over.

Yeah I noticed that too... Also noticed the Breakers Express deal makes it cheaper than a campground at Lighthouse Point. That seems odd to me.
ROUNDABOUND.
The RV sites at lighthouse point sell out usually months in advance and without discounts.
Express rarely is at capacity.
