Its funny seeing all of the single riders mad on FB because they didn't sign up for their favorite ride in time.
Yes, it would be hilarious if all the rude, pushy people of previous seasons out to get the last ride are shut out because of the online reservations. True justice.
Pushy and rude for sure. Not to mention, down right annoying. I swear, they'll come up the exit of a ride thinking they'll be let right on. Sorry, but I value my job too much, and unless you have a handicap, you're not cutting people who are waiting in line. And even then, those with a handicap aren't even cutting. They wait their turn just like everybody else.
Some of the Good Buy Day sales have already started. Candy is 75% off in all shops, and the General Store is 50% off everything. Candy is almost gone in a lot of stores already, but was able to snag some Alice Cooper and Frank Zappa posters in the General Store!
Not really fair if there won't be anything left for tomorrow. They're advertising the deals for tomorrow... so it should be the day they say it is.
It's not really an issue of fairness IMO. The park sees value in starting the discounts to liquidate the merch. All the deals advertised for tomorrow will be on. Nowhere does it state they can't or wont start early.
There's nothing to stop all the merchandise in those deals from being sold out at regular price the day before. The park isn't K-Mart.
When walking through several shops Friday and yesterday, there appeared to be an excessive amount of merchandise on hand. Hence, start the sale early. Pagoda had long tables full of souvenirs set outside the front doors.

I feel a call to the whaaaaambulance coming on. Haven't had to do that in a while.
For real, man. Why would they save it all for today? What if it doesn't sell? It's good business to start he deals when the weekend starts.
What happens to the unsold merchandise? Do they donate it to charity? That would be my guess.

Unsold merch goes out again next year... Unless it has a specific time/date on it, then it goes to the employee only sidewalk sale in the spring, or gets destroyed.
Like CPMaintMan said, unsold merch is on sale the following year. Some merchandise goes to Castaway Bay, since it's open all year round. There are merch seasonal workers who stay a little bit after the season to put the merch where it has to go. Also, there are a group of merch seasonal workers who come in April to set the stores up. But most of the unsold merch is on sale the next season.
Very pleasant light crowds and beautiful weather so far. Have walked onto MF, Rougarou and Magnum so far. Raptor and TTD down for wind
Ended up being one of the busiest closing days I have attended. Once the wind died down, the weather was absolutely perfect. Parking lot was 3/4 full when we left around 5:30. You could definitely see where they were short staffed. As busy as the park was, there were limited food choices open. That created long lines in the food stands that were open. Also, some rides such at Wicked Twister only had 2 ride hosts checking restraints which slowed the dispatch times down.
Overall, was a great day. I used my fast lane + from renewing my pass and turned out to be a good day to use it. Maverick was a 20 minute wait for fast lane but most everything else got us on pretty quick.
Had a great season and now time to look forward to 2016.

Last year I bought a Magnum 25th anniversary shirt...which was great, although last year was Magnum's 30th. I also got a Shoot the Rapid shirt for pretty cheap. Good luck finding merchandise for that ride ever again.

No it wasn't. Magnum opened in 1989, therefore last year was the 25th season.

It was our first closing day and we had a good time. You couldn't have had better fall weather.
Did anyone stick around for the ticketed last rides? How did it go? I had Rougarou, but my travel companion was out of steam and we left at 6:30. I felt bad not using it, but life happens.
