I have a dumb question? What do they do with all the trash cans after the park closes for the season? Tony and Tyler posted something like this one year that they move them somewhere and store them. I wonder though do they clean them too?
That's a good question; I would assume they are all put through a washing process of some kind. Maybe DT is transformed into the world's largest dishwasher. :)
When is the 2010 schedule coming? We need to start making plans! :)
Actually, after having to take a year off from CP, we are armed and ready with our PPasses...just anxious to be back.
Promoter of fog.
I know on closing day, they had them all stacked on the midway near closing time.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I believe they store them (or at least most of them) by Point Pavilions along the BS safety fence. And they clean them just before the season starts.

I really wish CP would do something about Soak City-it looks like crap! If anyone could see how awesome WWK looks you'd know what Im talking about.
I keep thinking that CP was just waiting for WWK to fail to take all that stuff and move it to Soak City.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
What, you don't like how half the slides in the waterpark are that same "sandy brown" color? ;)

Sandy brown? I thought they were all more of a seagull poo white? :)
In all seriousness though, I'm with Joe. Soak City needs new colors. I can't imagine it'd be over 1 mill to paint all the slides, not to mention it wouldn't be hard or long to do. But we'll probably still see white for years to come.

Where would the roi be on repainting the slides?

Probably somewhat less than the ROI on repainting their coasters. But they do that, too.

I'm starting to think I'm having Cedar Point withdrawals. I actually caught myself yesterday googling countdown clocks so that I could see roughly (estimating since the 2010 schedule isn't out) how many days were left until the park opens.
Speaking of which, when the schedule does come out, could we add a countdown clock to the site here?
I believe there's a countdown clock on CP's site, once the following season's schedule is announced.

Yes...
But waterslides are made from fiberglass and do not need to be painted.
I found out that the garbage cans at cedarpoint have many uses. Look here.....

That's true. Didn't think about it that way. Of course, aluminum siding isn't supposed to need painted and people do it anyway....

Looks like they're only running four cans. *sigh* How typical. ;)

I'd imagine there wouldn't be too much of a difference than what they did with Starlight in terms of being visually appealing. I mean, who's to say fresh new colors don't appeal to people in the water park?

You can actually paint water slides/fiberglass with an epoxy.
Actually, are you saying that they can be but don't need to be, or because they just plain can't? Sorry, my judgment and ability to understand something that might be obvious is a bit dull at 1:30 in the morning. :P

I was wondering the same thing...Then I noticed the Spider that was over Millennium Force. Kind of like the "spider of doom" or whatever Six Flags calls it.
