Cedar Point's Next Coaster

Umm, I hate to sound really young, but when did Blue Streak take out the buzz bars, and why?

Why? No idea. But I believe it was mid 90s.

Maverick since '99

I don't know about Blue Streak but Rebel Yell and Grizzly at Kings Dominion were converted about '84 or '85. I believe they are thought of as safer and generally only smaller rides still have the buzz bars today. But some are very good rides like Phoenix, Cornball, and Cyclops. If you are thin you can get more air. If you are large then it may be tighter than the individual lap bar. The buzz bar only has 1 position.

Okay then, that's a pretty good explanation. So, did the buzz bars only have one position then? Also, Front Seat Rider, What's the deal with your signature? Is it one of Chess' spiels?

Yes, buzz bars only have one position. And yes, it is from Chess' spiel.

I believe, based on my memory alone, Blue Streak was changed in 94 when Raptor was built.

CP Food Blog just posted an image on Twitter from Cedar Point about a very interesting “election” taking place in November. Very similar to the Carowinds county fair tease.

I've always said Youtube is the most reliable source for CP expansions and new ride concepts. Always said that.

That was a fan made concept video. Surprised you didn’t know that.

The last few days I have noticed some cement work, sidewalk being poured at Frontier Fling. I've watched the progress off the left side of CPLE RR as we pass the Frontier Fling crew waving at the train. That attraction certainly doesn't need any more walkways around it. This work has to be for a new ride. Yeah, it has to be for a new ride.

Also, birdwatchers, look for the pair of Kingfishers as the train passes over the water near Mine Ride.

Probably for a haunt.

Sidewalks are one of the last installations for a new ride.

They’re adding a sidewalk that leads to one of the old STR buildings. Live E uses the building for storage.

1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

You know what I'm surprised about? They still haven't taken out the old concrete from shoot the rapids. Makes me think they're keeping most of it for a new coaster down the road.

It costs money to bring equipment in to remove all that. No one is on the island in that area, so what is the hurry to remove it?

^^I'm pretty sure they're leaving it so you can retain memories of your favorite log flume. ;)

If they don't have any pedestrian type of thing planned for the Millennium Force Island, I want a 720 degree helix on the new coaster inside of the first turn around of MF (the round section). It would be easy to lead into it and out of because there are 3 sections of track on MF that are very close to the ground. This could also add some head choppers to MF or new tunnels.

I'm reminded of my favorite log flume every time I step into Maverick's queue. RIP.

^Clearly you've never been to Knott's nor Magic Kingdom.

Or Islands of Adventure. Or the Mall. Or Dollywood.

Would it suffice to say that Dollywood is likely to be my first amusement park outside of Ohio coming up here in August, simply because I'm 21, don't get around much due to work/school, and haven't had the financial ability to go to a lot of parks? Hahaha.
Though, White Water Landing was of sentimental value to me anyway.

Edit: And also because my parents only took me to Cedar Point, and living in Cincinnati for school the past few years has made Kings Island pretty optimal if I do go to a park.
