"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

Well they’re so deep that they needed time to cure and won't everything else be close to the guest? The reasons I think it will just be one large tower is, they won't need to make 150ft wide and it would save them money. If there going to dig any of the other footers or do any construction its going to be close to guest so this really wouldn't have solved the problem. The tower would still be like Xcelerator's just one big one. I think the other two footers will go around 75ft in front of the ones that are there now. If you have the crest to large on the top of the tower you would have no airtime. CP bound you probably are right, but this is my guess. Well either way it will be awesome, I hope I don’t sound rude.

If this thing comes true I sure don't want to see the bottleneck this new "attraction" is going to bring.

Indeed, that would be one heck of a traffic jam if the enterance to the "attraction" is in that area.

Luckily, Cedar Point has a FreeWay! *rimshot*

Craig, an Intamin rocket coaster would be new and different. Although it would probably have some overbanked turns like MF, it would be a much different experience.

Whats awfully funny about this is that the "higher ups" don't just start telling everyone about plans for future development...while it may be true, its highly unlikely that everything he said was in fact true at all...

I have a question... how much did WT cost? I feel like i am under the impression that it costs nickels in comparison to MForce. I know its not that drastic but WT is what half the price of MF? Maybe because of how the 2001 season attendence was down CP didnt think they wanted to loose out on the next year also so they built WT? This is what Six flags new england did with batman knight flight this year. And also believe it or not the most coasters world record does matter a lot to Cedar Fair. Analyists made comments in 2001 that "not only is their attendence down, but they lost the world record for most coasters". I think Cedar Fair cares about their stock price so putting in coasters in CP to stay with or ahead of SFMM is probably something they dont mind doing.

WT was 9 mil MF was 25. Anyway WT was in the works long before 2001 so the idea that it was put in because of low 2001 attendance doesn't fly.

Another problem I see, if ( major if)this is a ride on the caliber of Millie I am afraid we may see the Mantis effect come to Maggie. No more short lines on the best steel coaster in the world :(

------------------
Go ride your 310 foot, 80 degree, 93 MPH Monster. I'll take my 205 foot, 60 degree, 72 MPH Baby.

Why would Cedar Point build a coaster taller than MF in such a short time? Well the GP will still ride MF and WT, but with this new ride, lines will be shorter for all the other rides. That’s a draw right there waiting less time in the line for MF, WT, Mantis and Raptor. We know that a 400ft coaster is coming to the US because Werner Stengel announced it, doesn't mean CP, but it doesn't me it can't be CP. The footers are around 30ft deep, which is deep enough to support a 400 ft tall structure, so its not out of the question. SFWoA have been adding a lot of coasters and trying to get a lot of people to go there. Cedar Point wants to steal there thunder, when SF's build there new hyper who would care, if CP has already a hyper, Giga, a taller impulse and a lot of other world class coaster and then to top it of a 400ft launching coaster that went over 108 mph. Some people would still go to ride the new hyper at SF's, but most would go to CP. I would still go to ride the new hyper, but that’s looking from CP view, a lot of the GP only goes to a park once or twice a year.
You ask why? Why not?

Before visiting the park on friday I highly doubted the whole footer on the beach thing. Well, I looked over, back behind Disaster Transport from just outside the Wicked Twister station waiting in line. Low and behold there was something back there at the far end of DT, it looked like a footer with a wood frame around the side of it, but, I'm not saying that it is a footer, only that it resembled one from a distance.

If it is a footer, it is probably for extra WT supports.
I was stating why I think Cedar Point might build a larger coaster than Millennium Force.
Magnum Force, I was going to bring up the point that Magnum could get more traffic also, but I was going to wait until they announced it. It's sad that there won't be walk-ons on Maggie anymore. At least there is a good reason behind that though. :)

Also, I saw something behind DT also, but from behind WT's station it's too low of an angle to see what it was. It could have just been a crate. There's no way it's for WT either because it's quite far away from the ride.

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Good, I wasn't going to post that I saw something on the beach this weekend, but now I'm not the only one =) But isn't that one heck of a long ride to have footers from Area 51 be related to those (possible) on the beach?? I'd say thats a totally different ride - maybe a flat ride of some sort (Huss or whatever ... )

And since projects as big as what this could possibly be, and Millie and ... well yea, although it has a small footprint, WT is a big project - maybe this was CP's plan all along - as people have hinted here and on Coasterbuzz if you look at all 3 rides (assuming a launched Intamin) its like they're preparing the GP. Start with 310 feet and near vertical ... then add in a really fast launch to full vertical ... then add the fastest launch ever and the 400 foot vertical. Just a thought ...

Ok this Knott's thing is really weird. Why wouold they say that stuff?

Regardless all we still know is that there are two concrete things that may or may not be footers and something beneath a blue tarp behind a wooden fence.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

If they aren't footers then what else are they? They have 12 circular bolts and theyre big blocks of concrete - I highly doubt that's an innovative plumbing system for the new hyper-bathroom they're putting in ...

Normally I don't listen to employee rumors, but I find the info from Knott's very interesting. There could have easily been some interaction with people from Intamin, who could have talked about Xcelerator being a small version of the project for CP. It's all in the same company, so the Intamin people wouldn't think they are "spilling the beans".

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

You know, this site is just as accessible in California as it is in Ohio. I would rate it as very likely that the Knotts employees got their rumors from the same rumor mill as everyone else. The fact that it was heard in California is insignificant.

This Knott's thing isn't weird, it's absurd and ridiculous. Obviously someone is telling the truth.
