"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

If you ever noticed, Cedar Point likes to stick with the same manufacture for a while.

For example: Power Tower then VertiGo

I'm liking the connections even better every day ;)

Yeah, and we had Intamin for Millennium Force, and then Wicked Twister...

Yes, that's correct. Humm...... :)
For every big steel coaster in CP's history since 1970, they have built at least one other coaster by that same company without interruption. Don't beleive me? Just look at the coasters and their manufacturers.

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

A quick look at the park's history showed me a lot of things.

However, I'm still happy with the 310 foot monster that I got to ride this weekend - front seat 11:00 at night ;)

If anyone has seen what’s under the blue tarp, can they describe it to me or show me pictures if they have any.
What blue tarp? There's a blue tarp in Area 51 that is believed to be another footer. Then there's the blue tarp near Mantis where the third train is located.

Then there's the blue tarp in my garage... God knows whats under that ;)

Why does everybody think they are getting a coaster when they JUST built Wicked Twister? I am very confused with this reasoning.
OK Craig, I will try to drive this through your head. Footers. Bigger. Than. M. F's.

Ugh, these doubters, they just keep talking...

OOOO! Here's my newest idea. Think of this. A 450ft tall Topspin.

Recent history doesn't always dictate patterns for the future - especially in this industry.

If you use that reasoning, then why did CP build WT when they just did MF? WT was announced after MF's second season, and CP and Intamin were probably in talks during that entire season.

Same can be said for Mantis after Raptor had opened.

Argue all you want, but Intamin uses lesser quality products and sometimes tries to do more than they can reliably. Just ask CP maintenance sometime what they think. -Allan

Do I agree that Intamins seem to have reliability problems? Yes. Do I agree that it is because of bad steel or cables? Hell no! The majority of downtime (WT aside for a sec) is probably caused by computer issues. Newer rides have more sensors, and this more places they can screw up and cause downtime. As for your B&M reliability theory, it went out the window on July 11 when Raptor was up and down several times throughout the afternoon because the computer was shutting down the ride. Asking CP maintenance is pointless because 90% of their "fixes" involves nothing more than resetting a ride and running a few test trains. Are there instances when track cracks, wheels go bad, chains break, etc - of course! But I'd be willing to bet that most downtime on the majority of modern rides is computer related.

And Millennium Force is probably the second most complex in that regard (behind Intamin's California Screamin', which runs five trains at a time). The train movement through the stations and on the lift requires a whole lot of overlapping in the blocks.

Forget about Area 51! The more important question is are we invited to the hottest luau in Ohio on the 27th?! ;)

Olympic10086........I'm with you......a Cedar Point version, 100 feet tall, with the hairpin turns banked outwards, opposite the usual way they bank them, to really give you the feel you're going off the edge. I've only been on vintage Wild Mice, from the 50's and even at 40 or 50 feet in height, they were great thrillers.
