"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

how do we know these footers are even new, they could be REMOVING them, they could have been footers for the dodgems, and the signs are meaning the are removing the old footers to put in a lamppost picnic tables etc.

you heard it here first folks! the future of CP is........ LAMPOSTS and PICNIC TABLES!!!! The question is, will they be 400' lamposts? Perhaps 110 mph picnic tables. Now that WOULD break some records.

Cedar Point, it may not be heaven, but is sure is close.

Prooooobably not...
if the park didn't make an announcement with the addition of The Rock or even VertiGo inside the park, do you reallly think they would put up a sign that had to do with picnip tables? I don't think so.
well you know what i mean, the footers we are making a big deal out of might not even be staying, im not saying there defenatly wont be a coater or ride, but these footers may not be the ones. Has anyone seen them BEING built, or are they something that appeared overnight

People first started to see Area 51 back around the start of the season, I believe.

Also, the Dodgems buidling wouldn't have used those three footers, let alone any footers at all.

One solid block of concrete is basically all the Dodgem foundation/floor took.

Employees saw the footers being poured, so yes, they are a new addition. In fact, the footers being poured is what started the discussion in the first place.

In competition with SFMM??????? Come on, Japan stole Cedar Points height and speed record. I say obliterate the competition and put it out of reach. Not just 400', lets do 450' or more and make it the worlds longest, and of course, fastes rollercoaster. WHY NOT!?!?! LOL ;) Just throwing some fuel on the fire. :)

I don't think the park would do that. It would make them seem egotistical just to have the longest and fastest most ridicoulously intense roller coaster in the world.

Cedar Point, the cure for the Summertime blues!

Man I have not been to GTTP for a while, and I just came back from two days at Cedar Point this past week, after seeing "Area 51" and wondering, and here we have a whole new section for the flippin' thing! I didn't take the time to read all 22 pages, so I would just like to know...what is the general consensus now as to what this thing will be? Maybe a motion simulator...or maybe...I don't know...I'm just going to shut up now.

Everyone thinks that it will be either a B&M Flyer or and Intanim Rocket Coaster. But think about this A Intanim Flying Rocket coaster. That would rock all.

The general consensus is that there is no general consensus ;)

Amen to that! :)

Does Intamin actually make a flying coaster? Even if they do, I don't see CP putting one in. That would be incredibly intense. Just think laying down and going to 100 mph (what everyone is saying)! That would be crazy!

A very select few are saying that it could be that. Intamin doesn't have a flyer coaster out yet...the Intamin "rocket coaster" is more of a consensus, but not by all.

It would almost seem redundant (to me at least) if they added a rocked coaster. WT works just fine in my book We've done high drops, we've done quick launches, now lets move on to something else...

Yeah, but now they can combine them both, with something CP doesn't have many of. INVERSIONS! They have height & speed, but total, CP coasters only go upside down 13 times. And CP only has 3 looping coasters, As a lot of people have said CP is in need to 2 things.

1. A 5-6 inversion coaster.

2. A new world class woodie.

I think they will go with the first one.

Also, couldn't WT have been a way for peeps that would be a little hesistant for an extreme launch to gather courage to ride something like a rocket coaster?

Maybe... But a Flying Rocket coaster might be able to deliver 5-6 inversions and it would be awesome to go over that tophat laying down. just like your flying. Flying 100mph through the air. While going through 6 inversions and weightlessness. That would be something. Eh. I wonder what Jeff would think about this kind of coaster.
