"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

So when can we expect that announcement? ;)

Hopefully, if everyone else has noticed, there is more than one PATH (ride path) in the trees, along with that clearing.

Didn't B&M form out of Intamin? They both make excellent rides in my book. The best steel coasters (I think). Cedar Point has a long running relationship with Intamin. Intamin supplied more rides to Cedar Point aside from the coasters, through their distribution, if I remember right. George Roose's (CP ceo '57 - the 70's) son used to work for Intamin. Any coaster is going to have wear problems with the different mechanics of it. Nothing can last forever parts-wise. I don't believe they use inferior materials at all. B&M and Intamin track is said to be the most expensive because it is the best.
OK I figured it out guys. They need someway to get all the peeps into the giant floorless cheese on a stick stand. Therefore we are gonna have a 700 foot Arrow Fishook that lifts people up to buy the cheese on a stick and then when they are done eating (there is no food or drink allowed on any Cedar Point ride after all) they take the fishook on its drop ride down. Yeah thats it. ;)

Creative thinking.
Very creative thinking.

Think of this A Intanim Flying Rocket Coaster... Can it be done? Would it be good?

If it could be done it would be awesome. But I'm not so sure. Of course, I'm no expert. What does everyone think of this?

Cedar Point, it may not be heaven, but is sure is close.

Personally, I've always wanted to ride a flying impulse. I thought it would be an awesome experience. I don't think I'd like a flying impulse though. I'd rather experience the airtime on the top hat sitting down and not on my back. That's one reason I don't want an inverted top hat on a Rocket Coaster if that's what these footers turn out to be.

That last page was great... its an intamin vs. B+M debate. Kinda reminds me of Nitro vs. S:ros(SFNE).

Anyway, does anyone know if these rocket coasters have the ability of going through loops? Cause if you look at the intamin inverted loopers in spain and finland those heartline twists(or in-line twists, they call them heartline twists on their website)look like a lot of fun!

Hypersonic XLC- 17 seconds of ride....only 1.8 of which are fun

What's the capacity on a rocket-coaster? I don't care what kind of ride is next up so long as it's up to CP's never-ending standards!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

Yah? What's the capacity on an ImPulse?
The capacity for Xcelerator is 20 people per launch. I don't know the hourly capacity though. I'm still hoping for that joint project (Intamin and B&M getting back together for one ride).

I think that the size of the trains for Xcelerator was dependent on the actual ride time, Since the ride itself is rather short, it would be pointless to have a large train to load, in turn creating a never ending cycle of stacking. If CP gets one, I'd bet the ride would be much longer, therefore adding more cars, and perhaps a second station like MF for 3 train operation. Basicly, the Intamin "rocket coaster" can do anything any other Intamin sitdown can do...it just starts with a launch. Who knows, it could be a coaster like Xcelerator spliced with Collosus (deca-looper) and MF.

Xcelerator is said to have an hourly capacity of 1330pph. I'd love to see some huge inversions on a Rocket Coaster, but I would hate to have OSTR's!

Capacity on a rocket coaster will probably be equal to the capacity of MF. No train can enter the station until the train in front of it has cleared the hill after the launch. When I was at CP this year, it was really consistent on MF that they would dispatch a train as soon as one hit the final brakes. Given Intamin's outright refusal to design a coaster with midcourse brakes, I can't imagine a rocket coaster cycling any faster than MF. Also, about its length, if it really is going to be 300'+ tall, then it probably will have a rather long circuit. Any coaster that is 300' tall is a huge investment and while they are already spending the money on a large ride, they might as well make it longer. Xcelerator was made short most likely because it was in a plot of land where they could not have done much else. I think at CP it will be much larger in terms of length....it appears in the PT webcam that the clearing on Millennium Island is just about fitting with an overbanked turn, but maybe I am just seeing things!
Not to interrupt anyone, but how giant are the Huss giant rides?

I like Intamin's coasters in that they have no midcourse brake. This allows for a ride with non-stop action from start to finish...besides they have created a coaster with a midcourse brake...just look at DT. :)

You do & don't have a point there. For one reason, DT is somewhat 'unpredictable'. By that I mean, that EVERY 'transport' has differences. Now I realize that all other coaster are the same way, but DT having a trough adds to this. From what I've heard, in it's AR days, there used to be frequent stops @ those 2 mid-course break sections. Because the speed & time at which the vehicle would enter and exit the block could not be precisely predicted. However, now with 1 transport gone, DT can run smothly, (I have never been stopped mid-course on DT before). But other than that, most Intamin coaster don't have a MCBR. I Think. :) Now all that explaning I just did didn't really mean anything, but just thought I'd take the chane to talk about my baby! :P
