"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

CP_Bound, reading your post made me think of something. That "Footer/Pad" might be for the launch "room". If you look @ various pictures here & here of Xcelerator's construction, you can see that those concrete formations look a lot like those that are supposedly in Area 51. Just take a minute to browse those pictures. And remember, it took less than 5 months start to finish to build Xcelerator. And also CP_Bound, I do agree with most of your theory, except that i think that the big one is for the lanuch. But your theory does sound VERY accurate to how it would happen. Thats my updated theory. With the help of CP_Bound!

I'm sorry folks, but there are three footers. I have seen them with my own eyes. If you were there opening day and looking you would have seen them too.

I see your point with the launch, but I just don't see them wasting all that money and space on a footer that could be a few cylindrical footers versus the giant spread footer that are generally used to disperse a large weight load. This is the main reason why I believe it will be used for one of the tophat bases. This also makes sense in that large scale construction could take place mid season on footers on the island because no one can get back there. Area 51 on the other hand would have been a hazard to guests.

Hold on! I got it! This is no ride folks! It is going to be the worlds tallest (not fastest) cellular phone tower standing in stunning glory over our very own Cedar Point! ;)

Looks cool, wow they got Off Springs as there back ground music. If its going to be a coaster, I think the two footers are for the top hat. They will probably build one large structure, instead of building two like on Xcelerator; it would be cheaper to support the tophat like this. All the other footers are small enough to start later in the season. If you want to show a picture, just go to www.webshots.com. Sorry wish I could be more help.

After watching that video i have a couple comments. First off, I LOVE that ride! It look sooooo sweet!!! Second, (and I know this is a far limb to go out on) I think we'll see the launch from the Troika area, towards Gemini, into a tophat (which will be appx. where 'Area 51' is, appx, 230-250 ft tall.) then basically a mirror image of the Xcelerator circuit. Over towards ID, into an overbanked, then over to the MF Island, and over PWE, to an overbanked, then back to the station, over (whats left) of the lagoon. I do think that we might see some more elements, (inversions, tunnels, weaving in w/ other coasters) what I think would be sweet is if they had an underground tunnel coming down off of the tophat, right into the MF island. (But I know that isn't possible tdue to water-table depths, and not so good soil on the pennsulia, let alone the island). So it's been 1hr. And I've yet again updated my thesis, (feels like I'm writing a Research Paper) Be back tomorrow with more ideas!! :)

The fact that at least 250 employees saw it poured in April going down at least 30ft would be proof shorty...

Yeah because at first their were basement rumors correct? Well, to think a basement was being dug wouldn't it have to be a large hole in the ground?

Aww shucks, am I going to have to come to the park next year knowing my favorite "Guess Your Weight" stand is gone?

I'll bet they couldn't find replacement parts for the scale.

I could have sworn that there were three footers when I was there in early June when I looked over the fence.

If this is such an important "fact", why did you wait 3 months to post?

Sorry, and I might be wrong, but I have trouble believing it....

And I am not sure that it tells us anything anyhow. There are many factors that can determine the size and depth of a footer.

This thread keeps on getting more interesting but I guess it is true give an enthusiast a footer and they will want a coaster.

The only thing we are sure of is that there is a big fence there. Inside that fence may be two or three concrete "things" that most likely are footers but for all we know are missile silos.

Other then this the very very very very vast majority of us on this board know nothing.

Don't be so sure what Jeffery Spartan posts, those East Lansingers can be pretty tricky. ;)
