I would love to see a CookOut take that corner. A meal at CookOut is anywhere from $3 to $4 and includes a Burger, 2sides, and a drink.
They also have "Fancy Milkshakes" They have a list of 30+ flavors and for one price you can mix and match as many as you want.
CookOut would be a great fit for Cedar Point!

There are a lot of people around who think Gemini was named after NASA's project Gemini from the 60's, because when the coaster was built, it was the world's tallest. In reality, project Gemini itself was named after twins because they used two man space capsules. So, Gemini is a very appropriate name for the coaster who's meaning is lost to so many.
Gemini is also a reference to the Greek mythology story of the twin brothers Castor and Pollox. one was a boxer, the other was a wrestler. However, I do recall the old Gemini character sign to be an astronaut that used to stand at the entrance.

The video from CP was painful to watch. I think they should just stick to the press release.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ojzsL55F7s
EDIT: Yes, everyone, I get it. My opinion isn't shared by most. It isn't anything against Tony. It just isn't my style of announcement. *Shrugs*
By the way, you are not alone. It took me this long to finally watch it...on mute, I did my best to lip read. The super-happy-family-cheese factor was high on this video. It is not everyone's cup of tea and nothing you should have to defend or apologize for. :)
My coaster hierarchy at Cedar Point: Magnum, Millennium, Mean Streak, Wicked Twister, Dragster, Blue Streak, Gemini, Raptor, Mantis, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Mine Ride, Gatekeeper, Maverick (Disaster Transport and Wildcat would have gone before Gatekeeper and Maverick)
Cedar Pointer, I loved Cookout when I lived in Virginia. I agree with you, it would be a great fit in that area.

Not at the home of the $14 "$5 footlong" it wouldn't be.

That's OUTSIDE the main gate. If we apply the same math as they do to a bottle of Coke that's purchased outside the park to what's available inside the park, that same meal will cost approximately $20 to $30.
Which is pretty similar to other pricing in the park.

As far as the video, I don't understand why the camera changed to a side view with the announcing of the names of the two new rides. It was distracting to me and it seemed to downplay the rides. The family were naturals in front of the camera but in some ways I agree with Chupacabra as I really don't believe a girl of that age was that excited and loving on Frog Hopper.
I checked out Knoebel's menus after reading the Golden Ticket page and it seems like good food at reasonable prices. I've heard Kennywood is reasonably priced, too. I have not been impressed with CP's food or their prices, even with Platinum perks. I can't bring myself to pay the asking prices for the brand chains knowing what I pay most elsewhere, if it was a buck extra, okay, but it's a lot more.

^Knoebels has very cheap prices for park food, and everything I've had has been very good. The only thing I usually buy at Kennywood is the legendary Potato Patch fries. Which I think are kind of over-rated, but I still like them. I don't think the prices are all that great either. Dollywood has great food but it's pricey. CP has mediocre food that's very pricey.
The only times I eat in amusement parks, usually, are during enthusiast events.
With the important exceptions of visits to Cedar Point (chili cheese fries), Kennywood (Potato Patch fries) and Magic Kingdom at WDW (Dole whip).
I am what I like to call thrifty and what my friends like to call cheap, and I just can't bring myself to pay park food prices.

I'm not married to any one food venue. I'll eat just about anywhere except at Coasters. Blecch.

I like to mix it up. When I go by myself, I go to Panda Express or that Burrito place over by the Wave Swinger. When I have friends, I think it's a good idea to go to Midway Market. You can get what you want like a regular buffet in town. The only bad thing is that it's more pricey compared to your hometown buffet.
The buffet of food must help underwrite the buffet of roller coasters.

I think he's saying that the park charges higher prices on food to help pay for the roller coasters and other rides added to the park.
Me, I'd say that any amusement park is going to take advantage of its captive audience and charge higher prices. For most people, it gets to be lunchtime, they're hungry, they're more likely to grumble about paying XX dollars for the Subway sandwich they could get for X dollars at the mall than leave the park and drive to the mall to buy the sandwich.

That was the gist of what I meant. I should probably try to be less poetic when Shawn's around. ;)
