Cedar Point 2013

Well yellow track would deffently be a first for B&M. I don't recall ever seeing pics of yellow B&M track.

Hair Raiser has yellow track, and was opened in 2011. That is probably the track you are seeing in those satellite images.

Edit: I almost guarantee it is due to the red supports for Hair Raiser packed up in the yard as well.

The fabricator in Ohio doesn't lead you to any "logical" conclusions about anything. They make the B&M track for all of the rides in North America, and maybe Asia for all I know. On top of that, you're pointing to overhead photos that could have been taken at any time in the last two years. Hell, that could be track for Behemoth, Wild Eagle, Intimidator... pick one.

That POV is horrible.

That is what happens when you shoot in the dark with a GoPro and a flashlight. Why did they even post that?

I wonder if CP regrets putting Luminosity in front of Iron Dragon. I mean if they would have taken Wildcat out sooner, the stage could have fit there perfectly and Iron Dragon would not have been overshadowed by a massive stage. Anyone agree?

The stage seems in a good place to me. I don't feel like Iron Dragons is being overshadowed. It isn't perfect, but I don't see it being too big of a deal.

^^I somewhat agree. but the stage might have been tucked a way too much if placed where Wildcat was. I had high hopes for the area, but I think it looks bad in the daytime.

I searched the track fabrication plant in this satellite map, which says it is from 2012, and I "think" I can see brown track on the North side of the plant. Also, to the West of that, I think I see what looks to be silver supports. I don't know for sure that that's what they are though. I do know that I've never seen that track before, and it looks as if they have more waiting to be painted. Maybe that's what were all looking for?
There are also some brown support looking things scattered around near the silver ones. I know the brown ones are for sure supports.

I suggested on Twitter that they shoot a POV with the building lights on (along with shooting an outside POV on Space Spiral). That would have been a little better, but I'm thrilled that we at least have this.

Whenever a ride is removed, my motive is historical documentation. I wish they would have done a POV for White Water Landing. We can't help in the POV department, but Jeff and I will be at the park next week to give Disaster Transport the same coverage we gave Demon Drop and White Water Landing.

Finally, someone said it. Reading two pages of rumors based on outdated satellite images really blew my mind. Not only are different zoom levels from different passes (months or years different sometimes), just rotating could change the time when the image was taken. Some images are new (for example Cedar Point) and some are older and outdated. Most of the time, the image is fairly outdated because obviously it can't all be updated at once. Hypothesizing based on a satellite image is completely inaccurate.

That said, it is indeed true the Clermont plant produces track for all of North America and Asia (I'm not sure about Europe). As said earlier, that yellow track ended up as Hair Raiser. I also believe that lime green track went from Clermont to China as well.

Now, if someone went down there and took current pictures of track sitting around, I'd be more accepting of color rumors. Even if the image says 2012 on it, it is possible it was still more than six months ago at this point.

Some of my friends say that I am crazy when it comes to Cedar Point. I tell them there are people here who are scanning satellite photos for track around manufacturer's buildings, and they think I am making it up. Makes me feel like a piker. LOL

Thanks for the pic links Walt. I had seen the Demon Drop ones (at least some) before but not the WWL.

Unfortunately, some people on here have nothing better to do then search the web for outdated satellite images.

We had a large tribute page, but I failed to bring it over when we updated the website a few years ago. I'll have to pull that content back together.

*gasp*

If they end up going with Banshee, and if those tracks are ours, then I can see a perfect name-color coordination.

Now if we could just get a satellite image of that... :ponder:

^ isn't that green track in one of the pictures supposed to go to china?

From what I was told that was the last of the green track he saw.

Note one of those photos includes a shipping container in the shot. I would think anything domestic would move on flatbeds.

B&M I think does it right, because they don't actually "build" the ride. I'm not even sure if they build the trains themselves, though I'm sure they'd work extra close with the fabricator in that case. I do believe that they use someone different for Europe, and I honestly just don't know about Asia. It'd be a nice change of pace to export something there.
