My first shot at a time lapse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLT2Ukoio0oI plan on posting a new video every Monday with the updated images.
Dude. Space Spiral would be so much fun if it went as fast as it does in the time lapse.
They made it quite obvious that the mascot of the ride is a gargoyle. Which pretty much fits everything.

To me it looks like those ugly restrooms are gone next to the entrance. It looks like the Midway Carousel is also staying there. You can see the very top of it.
If they took out the Carousel, I'm pretty sure there would be a revolt.
I knew the pic was computer generated as soon as I saw it. Raptor's paint doesn't have enough seagull crap on it to be real.

They did? ;\ Those blue wings don't look like they fit a gargoyle.
They can use this statue they already have for the entrance..

GATEKEEPER makes sense with a gargoyle as well seeing as how theyre usually guarding a building or door... they. In are usually depicted as blue in color and they have wings.
I agree that the wings dont look gargoyle esque but maybe theyre just altered

I hope thats from the virtual ride image! I loved the Maverick one.
I liked Maverick's original POV until an element was removed. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about that this time.

@djDaemon - I think he tied that in with the fact that we see a gargoyle at the entrance when you go for Halloweekends, like he linked with his last post.
CP actually didn't make an official statement about that, NextGen, but if they do go with gatekeeper I'm sure it would work nicely. It's just to me, those blue wings really don't scream gargoyle to me. :p Even if they're altered, they look much more bird-like than demonic.
I think it's safe to say that it's probably the real deal, considering the links that show up on that page.
"Something BIG is gonna happen!
Hac risus enim turpis elit. In sit penatibus"
Does anyone know what "Hac risus enim turpis elit. In sit penatibus" means? It shows up on various gatekeeper pages
Edit: on google translate http://translate.google.com/?q=Hac+risus+enim+turpis+elit.+In+sit+p...a=N&tab=wT

Ah. So, as I suspected, the ride's mascot is almost certainly not a gargoyle.
Brandon
I think it's actually nothing. It looks like it's part of Lorem ipsum, a false language used to simply fill in space to see what a page looks like with text.
I put Hac risus enim turpis elit. In sit penatibus into google translate... and it comes out to:
"For more ideas on this here. Is in the home."
lol... i don't know about that.
Like I said, it's most likely just filler text. We had to use that in my graphics design class a lot to make sure text looked nice on a page.
