Here's the thing canadian. I think it is possible to have another major ride come even after a $28 mil one. Maverick opened in 2007. the diamondback construction started in early 2008 season. So Dback already would have been paid for only 1 year later.

I doubt Kings Island borrows money from Cedar Point to help them build a roller coaster. Each park builds what it can, and in some cases should, build.

Unless you are Six Flags and want to run a certain small park with a lot of charm and family appeal into the ground...then you build more than you can and watch the dominoes fall faster than the Kinetic King.

This has to be the quietest announcement-eve I have observed in quite some time.

I just have a question, what does everyone think cedar point getting next year. Personally, a mega lite would be cool. And it doesn't take TOO much space.I think it would be pretty cool.

^ Think its going to be a maintenance year. With the addition of something very small. Everyone thinks that CP is going to get Dino alive. I'm not sure if they will or no I really hope they don't. I think it would be popular for a year and then after that it would just be a boring thing that no one will want to pay extra money to go see.

Agreed. I've been coming here since the 2006 announcement for Maverick and have never seen so few posts the night before. With this morning's CW announcement, it seems most people have abandoned hope of anything interesting happening in the morning.

If by "crappy" you mean different, then yes. CP used to have a pretty good Wild Mouse but they removed it.

So does anyone know when they plan to announce the 2012 plans tomorrow? I hope its not early again.

I hope they get a B&M when they do get a new coaster. Although I love what Intamin has brought to the park, it's time for a change.

I have been checking just in case some leak happens like it did last night. It is quiet but I think it is simply because we have worn out the wheel of what if. In wait and see mode now. Please be a big coaster and the biggest surprise ever................

The CW coaster.

Some of the stats for Leviathan at CW leaked late last night. The fact that CP is even bothering to announce an announcement makes me feel like it's something more than maintenance, so either SC expansion or a new flat.That being said, there is no allusion to an announcement on their facebook page as of tonight, so you'd think if it WAS a flat there'd be SOME sort of hype in their social media outlets

Well, they have spent all week talking about NASCAR drivers and the Goodyear blimp. If they remember to do the announcement tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if it was that Millennium Force is getting its paint job finished for 2012.

There isn't any sort of hint at all though. That is why I think it is a maintenance year. But you do bring up a good point that there has to be something to show for if they are having an announcement.
