Unfortunately, I have zero faith that a dark ride is even on the drawing board. And I would not exactly call Boo Hill high quality. Now would I complain if something like that came? Of course not, but it is of the same quality as Pirate Ride. Fun, but forgettable.
Every time I ride Boo Blasters, it pains me thinking about Phantom Theater. That ride was in a class of its own for a seasonal park...it was fun, relaxing, had great music, and tons of charm. I still haven't let it go. Every time I enter that ride, I picture the Maestro playing the piano, the faces following me in the hall...
If only Paramount/Cedar Fair had put all the Scooby/Boo Blasters money into giving Phantom Theater new effects, updated scenes, orchestrated music...they'd really have something to be proud of today. It's sorely missed each and every visit to King's Island.
At least there's a youtube vid, but it hardly does it justice:
I think a dark ride would be a nice addition. I'm not really sure what to think.
After looking back, it does seem like CP has gotten a new coaster every 4-5 years. So I think that there is a great chance of seeing a roller coaster in 2012 since we did not see one in 2011.
If we don't see some more clues soon(around July), I think we will be able to rule out the addition of a roller coaster. I could be wrong though.
No, there is no official announcement. And there probably wont be for at least a few more weeks. KI's has been testing for quite some time now and they still haven't said a word about it. I just hope CP's doesn't follow the same way. Because if it does, then no Coastermania ERT.
I'm still very skeptical it'll be open for Memorial Day. :(

Not sure, just answered amazingmaverick's question......but I've carried over the news to the WS thread. But I guess you could somehow link the Windseeker (and STR) late opening debacle to whatever we get next year. So let's start complaining about the ride for 2012 possibly not opening on time too. ;)

Back on topic, I was up at the Point today and took a closer look at both Frontier Trail as well as the Turnpike Cars area. I did not see any markings whatsoever in the Turnpike Cars area, so I can say without a doubt that the current state of things indicates no plans of future expansion in this area.
However, it is a completely different story that we're talking about over in Frontier Trail. The number 143 and I believe 144 were both visible, as well as the number 1. Red, orange, and yellow markers were used, and either appeared as dots, circles, or lines. There was a multitude of markings on the grass on the Thunder Canyon side of the Petting Zoo. There were also three orange markers on the island side wall of Thunder Canyon, as well as one on the canyon floor and a yellow circle with an X inside (reasonably huge) that was also on the canyon floor. Inside the island, there were multiple steaks with orange ribbons flapping in the wind. I couldn't see any ground markers due to the undergrowth. Can anyone make sense of this?
Closed topic.
