CP should definitely get auto spiel. You can't even understand most of the talking ride ops because they are either eating their microphone or they have an accent. There are a select few that are above 90% understandable
Oh.. But i definitely do not want an auto spiel at the park if they are going to make it in Spanish....
I feel that auto-spiels work well if they are understandable, they make sense, and cut to the chase. I know at Busch Gardens, they have it set up that the auto-spiel says all of the basic information at first, then the ride host can interact for a little bit. I remember on Iron Dragon the spiel used to ask how the ride was; without a pause, it would go onto exit procedures. Some of the ride host crews are absolutely unacceptable and don't go over any procedures. So maybe spiels are the way to go; but at the same time, they have to make sense and allow for guest interaction.
I agree with the whole interaction part. In most cases - not all - the interaction with the ops is part of the fun. That's especially the case on platforms like DDT where there is a long interval. I don't think I've ridden that once without feeling like I was at a party. Come to think of it, I think this year has been the best that I can remember as far as interaction goes. Even waiting in line on the platform is somewhat entertaining, almost like a warm-up to the ride.
With auto-spiels, I always feel like I'm at the airport. "The white zone is for loading and unloading only. Please do not sit on the silver handrails. Thank you, and enjoy your flight on Delta/Raptor airlines."
Back to 2012 and beyond, just tossing it out their after a caffeinated work binge that included some youtube-laden procrastination, I wish Cedar Point would get something like Phantom Theater at Kings Island.
Now that was a dark-ride.
Promoter of fog.

YES!! I loved Phantom Theater! When I was on a middle school trip we rode that thing 5 or more times because we loved it so much, plus it was dark so you could sit next to your "crush" and then tell all your friends "I totally sat next to soandso on this ride, we almost brushed hands once!!! OMG OMG!"
I wish Cedar Point would stop making kids expansions. Its turning into Disney its so ridiculous. The kids already have planet snoopy, the other planet snoopy, and like a billion of those rides where there are cars/motorcycles/spaceships that go around in a circle. And there's also the kiddy rides by Gemini, the midway carousel, and Jr Gemini. It's ridiculous. The kids areas aren't even that fun. I remember them being boring as a kid. King's Island has a much more fun planet snoopy. Even as an 17 year old I still find the p[lanet snoopy at King's Island fun. Not for the rides though. Me and my friends went in a gift shop and started dropping merchandise on the ground to scare people lol at all the girls screaming.
