I was happy with the ride in general. It wasn't a monster layout but the zero-g roll over the lagoon was pretty sweet. The only thing I really didn't like about it was that you had to watch a 5 minute promo video every time you rode it, which included a couple of times through the ride via POV video. I'm a big enough coaster geek that I'll look them up in rcdb and check them out on youtube, but I'm not about to stand 8 feet from the train behind closed doors and watch what I'm about to ride. Would've been fine if they'd looped the interview/concert portion and played it throughout the line, though. Overall, very cool park, shame they couldn't get off the ground.
Yea I am rather upset they couldn't bank properly for a new business. What is the old rule - have enough capital to run for 3-5 years without a profit before starting a business...
The Lagoon roll was sweet, i'll admit that.
Jay, that is obvious the things you want to happen in terms of food / housing / hotels, whatever.
But the last season, despite tough economic times, and painful gas prices people still drove to CP parks across the country. A lot of parks hard new rides in the 2008 year thanks to GL and that one Canadian coaster.
We would only hope that in this "off year" of new rides that other things are given attention.
I have to say we do have ...subtle improved food conditions. There is a Qdoba in town, but no seriously Subway is in the park now which is what I basically complained about before, lack of healthy / fast food options. Bam, we got a Subway.
Famous Daves and TGI Fridays are pretty reliable places with your normal "on point premium pricing".
Housing is a mess people say, but if they fixed housing they might have to pass the cost on to the employees and they jack the price on rent up to $50 a week or something.
There is nothing free at CP other then water, and if you look at the fringe benefits of working at CP, then $50 a week for living isn't even all that bad if you make $1700 a month.
But Hard Rock rides have a home in CF's arsenal if you ask me. It could bring lots of attention because they came from Hard Rock park, even if you renamed the coaster people still might go to ride that Zeppelin one. I am just saying they wouldn't be bad purchases because you need to keep pace with other parks that are trying harder to appeal to families more than CP. Hence families, yet still thrill rides involved.
Dollywood and HersheyPark come to mind. Right in the heart beat of America you have some real American parks if you ask me. Hershey candy, and Dollywood which kicks butt in ways.
If CP had Dollywoods feel in Frontier Trail it would clearly make that part of the park the most popular.
Knowing Cedar Fair's naming creativity, look for Iron Dirigible to come to a park near you soon.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Actually, it'll be named Hindenburg until the Toledo Blade runs the back story about how the Hindenburg crashed. Cedar Fair will then have to take one of the other selected names (Iron Dirigible Hawk) and make quick changes to all the signage and souvenirs.
Goodbye MrScott
John
But a few months down the road and rare Hindenburg buttons and shirts will be found on an online auction site known as eBay.
I wouldn't mind that - it would make my buying and selling on EBAY perhaps profitable again.
I heard Cedar Fair just ordered 250 gallons of yellow and red paint.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I'd love to do some graphic work for them in the queue house. LOL
While I never expect Cedar Point to get a recycled ride, I'm sure lots of the other parks could use them. If Michigan's Adventure got a decent steel coaster it would actually be a park worth visiting.
2007,2008 Ripcord
I know times are tough, but it would be nice if CF would be putting in a new WOW ride in CP! I know that some of the other CF parks have gotten "new coasters" thanks to closing Geauga Lake. I know it still would have been nice if Dominator would have been able to stay in Ohio! That is a sweet ride! I still want to know if any new wow is going to be announced for CP this year?
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
I'll be pleased if they announce wholesale improvements to food quality and service in the park and the destruction of Midway Market.
Goodbye MrScott

Jugga, when is your birthday? I have a friend in the air force... ;)
Maybe I'll just send you some gift certificates for some C-4 instead, and you can have the pleasure of doing it yourself.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Don't worry, I know a guy who knows a guy who can make it look like an accident. ;)

Sounds good to me. Just let me know when to make the call.

I would be happy if they would improve the food!

Things I want before a new coaster:
-Better quality food or lower prices
-Magnum Bathroom refurbished
-MF paint job
-Dark Ride
-Soak City addition so that I have something else I want to do there besides go in the River
