Typing on phone with bright sun allows autocorrect to get away with crazy words. Allowing a bird to nest above icebins for customers drinks for weeks is inexcusable. I should have reamed her our when she allowed footprints to remain on a counter top. I was EXTREMELY nice by letting her get away with that.
We all need Cedar Point and Cedar Fair to make a lot of money so we can get better rides. This manager is a weak link and has no business being in the position she's in. She is apparently someone who is more concerned about a bird's nest that SHE allowed to be built in spite of the harm it could have anyone of us.
Whether or not I actually was a jerk to her is irrelevant. I did what was best for Cedar Point and in doing so, uncovered an extremely poor employee who has no business doing the job she is expected to do.
Just remember what happened to Chi-chis and to a lesser extent, what happened to Taco Bell in 2006.

Or, you could review what you've written before you post. Autocorrect can't "get away" with anything; you're the person who posts.

Absolutely.

No, you were a customer with no managerial control over that employee of the park. Nice has nothing to do with it.

Disagree. In my book, you don't get to insult someone (no matter how much they may deserve the insult) and then claim you were "complimention"ing them.
I did what was best for Cedar Point and in doing so, uncovered an extremely poor employee who has no business doing the job she is expected to do.
And yet, in late July, she's still employed by the park. If she were so wretched an employee, why would she still have a job? It makes me wonder about the authenticity of your complaint, frankly.

Yeah, in the way that one says, "You suck, but great job." It was a pretty backhanded thing to bring it up at all. You got the change you were looking for, did you have to rub it in?

Ive been to Bubbles the last 2 Saturdays and found the female supervisor (I wish I could remember her name) to be very friendly. She was very active in walking around talking with people asking how they were doing and if she could be of any assistance. I thought that was a nice touch considering how the season started.

I'm not defending the employee. Her response to you fed off of your comment to her. She probably perceived this as a personal attack. You then perceived her comment as rude.
You both took offense to each others comments and both became defensive.
Both of you were wrong in this scenario.
I would be curious to know if this is the same manager that is letting a group of people get away with sneaking in their own alcohol in coolers - every single weekend. She has to know they are doing this. She spent a long time talking to them yesterday, so it is clear she knows them as regulars. They are there every single time I go on a weekend, and they do this every single weekend. They make sure to bring it in via backpacks and soft side coolers (the kind that look like regular bags), and they always have it over in the one corner under the camera, so they are out of view of the camera. How do I know there is booze in there? Simple. They go to the bar once to get some drinks so they have the right cups. When their cups get low or empty, they don't go to the bar. They go over to their little fort in the corner that has towels and such covering the coolers and bags. When they come back from said corner, their cups have been magically refilled with beer.
Regulars or not, the policy clearly states that outside alcohol is NOT allowed. The rest of us would love to bring in our own booze and not pay $10 a drink, but we follow the rules. We were going to say something to the supervisor, but it was clear that she knew them, and I doubt she would do anything about it. Has anyone else noticed this nonsense?
I'd suggest moving up the chain of command. I'm sure there are folks here who can suggest senior managers or executives to contact.

Call Cedar Point and ask for the Director of Food Operations. This is a serious violation and CP could loose their liquor license. Not saying they would but they could.
I don't understand why they had to kill the birds, they could have just moved the nest to somewhere else nearby, the mother would have found them.

My friend I was there with emailed the park yesterday about this. Hopefully, we hear something back. If not, we will call because these people do this every single time we see them there, and they are there a lot. Not only is the park losing money and putting their liquor license in jeopardy, but his particular group gets loud and obnoxious the more they drink, which makes the experience less than stellar for those around them.

That is a thoughtful idea but it wouldn't necessarily have worked out that way. It depends on the species and often once a person touches the nest there's a good chance that the mother will simply abandon it.
They need to make sure that the nesting site is inaccessible otherwise there will probably be another nest in the same location next year.

Not true.
No matter how flighty birds appear, they do not readily abandon their young, especially not in response to human touch, says Frank B. Gill, former president of the American Ornithologists' Union. "If a bird's nest is disturbed by a potential predator during the nesting or egg-laying stage," he says, "there's a possibility that [it] will desert and re-nest. However, once the young are hatched and feeding, [their parents are] by and large pretty tenacious."
The myth derives from the belief that birds can detect human scent. Actually, birds have relatively small and simple olfactory nerves, which limit their sense of smell. There are very few birds with extraordinary olfaction and these represent specialized adaptations. For example, turkey vultures are attracted to methyl mercaptan, a gas produced by decaying organic matter (and added to natural gas to make it smell bad), while starlings can detect insecticidal compounds in vegetation, which they utilize to keep their nests bug-free. Yet no bird's sense of smell is cued to human scent.

My bad. I had wrongly assumed that the eggs had not hatched yet as it doesn't make any sense that someone from the Point would outright kill living baby birds like the employee proclaimed. What did they do, have an after hours baby bird drowning party?
Frankly: I take the suggestion that the employee said anything about killing baby birds with a grain of salt, considering the source.

Considering the care CP takes in relocating younger seagulls that are in the park, I would imagine that if possible the birds were relocated.

That's good to know. I couldn't decide if Cedar Point was that callous or if she was that much of a piece of work. I surmise I gave the benefit of the doubt to the wrong side. One time a baby bird fell out the nest in our yard and we put it back and the mother tended to it along with the rest.
It's a shame it got to that point. A couple seasons a bird kept trying to build a nest on top of our mailbox which is on our siding next to our door and we kept taking it down. She still persisted so finally we had to put some wood blocks on top to prevent any more nest building those seasons. It's bad enough if it gets to where there's eggs and ridiculous it would continue to where there's baby birds.

Come to find out, after my lengthy conversation with the manager's boss, after this manager had claimed several times that the birds were dead, turns out that the birds had never been born. This woman is a horrible person. They did move the nest, hoping the mother would come back to the eggs, but she didn't.
When I pulled that manager to the side where no customers would hear, my first comment was "you're probably going to hate me because I am the one who complained about the bird nest but I do want to let you know how nice I think the place looks."
If she hated me, all she had to do was thank me for noticing and walk away.
But, the first thing she said was that I killed their birds. I then asked "They were born?" Her response was "The birds are dead."
I told her that was sad but was not healthy for the customers. She claimed they posed no threat since it was not directly above the ice bin. Then she proceeded to ask me if I swam in the pools and then touched my lips or straws? That was when I knew she had no business being trusted in areas where food or drinks were involved.
I stayed calm and never caused a scene. The other customers were not made aware of what this manager had just told me. The last thing I want is Cedar Point receiving bad press because of a manager's incompetence. I just went to my phone and informed her boss of what just happened.
I received a call from him on Monday. We spoke for about a half hour. He expressed how embarrassed he was that a bird's nest had been allowed to be built and how they had tried to relocate it but the mother never went back to the eggs. I explained to him how I knew how badly food poisoning hurts business since I was general manager at a Taco Bell in 2006 during the time when people were poisoned from e coli on the lettuce.
I asked if she is OK with bird waste falling into drinks, what else is she letting get by?
You can think I am mean or rude for saying something to the manager in the first place, I really don't care. But, I guarantee you will be safer eating at Cedar Point because of that manager exposing to that she doesn't take our safety, seriously.
I would have just said it looked nice, and to pour me another round..The extra stuff was filler and just easily led to a confrontation to begin with. I mean the woman is clearly in the wrong here, but it could have been avoided altogether.
Just go there, if there's an issue bring it up, if it's not there, just enjoy it.
