Bubbles area 21 and over at Soak City

I went on May 26, and I assumed most things were closed because it was early in the season.

Here's what I wanted to go on and was unable to that day:

  • Eerie Falls
  • Main Stream
  • Renegade River
  • Water Slides

It was my first time at Soak City, and I've been a Platinum Passholder for years. I was rather disappointed and underwhelmed.

IIRC, Brian Short is the manager of Soak City. He used to be the area 2 manager in rides.

Well, all Brian Short needed to do was inspect the pools before opening and get people to scrub them clean. The pools have accumulated dirt from sitting all winter and no one cleaned them, or if they did, they did a horrible job. The pools are so filthy, if I were Mr. Short, I'd seriously worry about the security of my job. Disgusting and an embarrassment to Cedar Point.

I'm with Pete on this one. I would even go so far as to say Soak City's opening should have been delayed a few weeks to get it up to par. I'm more inclined to just go to Wildwater Kingdom for all my water park needs.

Yeah, if they're going to charge admission, most of the attractions should be opened and in presentable shape. There's always room for something unexpected or unavoidable to come up, but this seems like a simple lack of preparedness.

Much like CP's opening day...

This is the first year we haven't been able to get to the park early in the season, and from what I'm hearing, I'm pretty glad about it. I can't imagine people who have purchased a full price Soak City ticket only to have rides unopened and filthy when the weather is nice. I'm disappointed in so many things I'm hearing, although it sounds like there's a few positives this year in the refurbished hotel and Luminosity. I'm just sad other very important parts of the park are suffering.

I'm sure it's been said, but maybe... just maybe Soak City has always been this way, but we didn't have such a great hotel next door to compare it to. I mean, when I look at the sun bathing area near the lazy river, and see the chairs covered in gull poop, and the pea-gravel "sand" in the middle, it just screams outdated/old CF era stuff.

Why should I pay the price to enter soak city, and get a subpar lounging area like that, when I can walk a few steps to the beach and enjoy that for the cost of parking?

Another thing that goes along with Breakers - it's time for them to replace that awful 1990's metal teal fencing and concrete posts on the boardwalk with white, classic fencing that matches the rest of the resort. Hopefully that happens soon.

I think they will soon, as they have already done that around the Breakers East pool.

Funny, they posted a pic on Instagram advertising for Soak City lifeguards.

I took my daughter to Soak City yesterday and little kids areas were just fine - everything was working and the areas were clean. However, the area around Eerie Falls had all sorts of debris scattered about which I thought was odd for Soak City. Also, towards the water slides and closer to the beach looked rather "unkept" as well. I also noticed that numerous attractions were down, such as a few of the larger slides and the lazy river. For that particular visit it did not impact us as the areas my daughter can go to were fine, however I could easily see many people disappointed with the conditions yesterday. I have been to Soak City numerous times and that is not "normal" for the park.

That is completely unacceptable. Even with it being the beginning of the season and having low staffing, those are some attractions you don't close. Main Stream can be operated with two lifeguards and Eerie Falls can rotate with the activity pool. I don't think I ever remember a time where that much was closed in Soak City.

In the 6 years I spent in Operations this was not the case. The reports I've heard and from photos I have seen, the water park has never opened in the condition it has this season.

I just made a phone call, asking if they're going to have it clean by this weekend, if not, when. Even though I haven't seen it first hand, based on these reports, I don't think we should waste a trip there only to find the same when someone should be walking through it daily to inspect.

The lazy rivers are my favorite, too! Sad to hear they are closed. Something is amiss.

Did you get a response? We were planning to go tomorrow, but if it is a mess, we will just go to CP and not SC.

No response about if it is done, I was connected to park operations, I told them, then they connected me to park admissions, told them, too, but it is kind of disturbing operations transferred me there when I would consider it an operational issue, I told admissions that, too. I flat out said somebody needs to take a walk about and see the conditions and clean the attractions so we can visit.

I am far from a complainer, but I just sent a contact to CP on their website about my Soak City experience on Sunday.

I hope they actually do something instead of giving you a generic "we're sorry, we'll look into it" response. I don't usually go to SC, but from what I've been reading, this is inexcusable.

The only other time I've ever contacted them - was to ask about/suggest more healthy food options for the dining plan last year. That prompted a phone call and a nice little discussion from food services asking for ideas and promising they would have some new items soon. Sure enough, they followed through. I'm hoping that my constructive criticism of my visit is helpful and doesn't come across as whiny on this one

Food services seem very responsive and takes feedback from guests very seriously. I also received a phone call from food services last year about something. I hope Soak City operations is at least half as responsive as food services.

When I was riding Magnum today the water park seemed to look clean. Could have looked worse close up tho.

Being on Magnum and trying to judge whether a particular part of water park is clean is not exactly realistic.
