I heard from a buddy of mine that practically goes to Cedar Point like once a week, said it probably be annouced middle to end of the month. I hope he's right because I'm just as anxious as everybody here. Although I won't rush the days of the week for the annoucement. If I had to pick a day though, I'd pick it to be on a Wednesday.
Is this for certain?...or is it a highly-educated guess?

Its for certain - didn't you get that memo?
Nah, its a very highly educated guess. Its safe to assume they'd make the announcement after the unofficial end of the busy season, which is Labor Day. And Wednesday just seems like a good day for the announcement.

I listened to the Conference Call, and they said the info would be available "at the beginning of the Fall." Now, Labor Day is the end of "Summer" and 7-day operation, and Fall officially begins on September 21, so I think it's safe to assume that it will be announced in September.

But it's not. They said they'd announce it in August.
Favorite Coasters 1.MF 2. TTD 3. Raptor 4. Gemini 5. Magnum
Maverick perhaps? I wanna RIDE ON.
Mark my words; it won't be in August.
Poor attendance figures would only be worsened by an announcement this early, giving people a "we'll just go next year" mentality. I know Kinzel said it would be announced in August, but believe me, announcement dates are never set in stone. Just look at Dragster's announcement that was pushed back 5 months.
If they most recently said the announcement would be at the beginning of the fall, that's a much more accurate clue compared to what was said in May.

I really don't understand the attendance these days. A month ago, not July, the quarter earnings said attendance was up like 1 percent from 2005? Is it because of all the rain that's caused people to not come? Is is because of the early season Coaster problems? I've gone 6 times this year, and plan to go like at least 3 more trips. I don't get it though, it looks very busy when I go there.
The average guest has no idea about early season problems (although they may be turned off by Dragster's problems which everyone knows about). The weather has sucked this year, plain and simple. It's either been too wet or too hot most of the summer.
I agree that a fall announcement seems much more likely, although it's disappointing because I'd like to get back to seeing some intellegent conversation on here.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I can't stand it when people think they know for sure when they don't.
I think it may be annouced at the end of Augest. If you think about some people might we go next year, but I think a lot more will be excited to see the construction that is going on after the annouced it and they will travel one more time in September, or for Halloweekends. *** Edited 8/2/2006 5:01:55 PM UTC by MichiganStateFan***
Well, once we see some track mounted, hopefully we can finally kill some of the sillier rumors.

God, I hope it's soon. I'm not sure how much longer I can wade through 10 pages of silly conjecture to find an interesting thought or point.
Wait, I'm contributing to that very problem right now....
But make no mistake, I do want to know what kind of Intamin launched looper we're getting just like everyone else! ;)
I just hope the month of August has better attendance numbers then the month of July. That way they can keep their word and the annoucement will be this month. It's a lot of fun watching the construction of this coaster. One thing that is different from this coaster, it's the only one besides Dragster that started construction on footers and supports this early in the season. I hope that once the annoucement does come, we'll see another webcam to watch the progress.

I believe Tony and Tyler hinted that there will be a new/relocated camera for "Project 2007" in one of their blog entries. After they announce it I'd think they'd move a new one to show it or just move the Skyhawk cam a little. They've had a TTD, maXair, and Skyhawk Construction Cam so I'll bet they'll put one in for this one too. Here is the OnPoint Blog entitled Psst...
Will we see any other park cams updated to this type of camera?
We do plan on updating at least one more for now, although it will not be anytime in the immediate future. This season, yes. But not at the moment.
