I had a TTD employee in 2003 tell me that he had his own coaster design firm, and since Intamin were such peices of crap that he was going to be designing Cedar Point's next coaster.
Now, why would HE lie about that sort of thing?
The point is, some park employees think the parkgoers will listen to and believe things they say, and they probably know they will wind up on the internet somewhere. If I was in that situation, you'd better believe I would have a field day getting people worked up over stupid yet semi-believable rumors.

Why not just tear down PT then? If they are going to add thrill rides, they need to be new, not rehashes of thrill rides that are already at the park. As cool as the idea is (it would be cool if PT spun while rising) its wouldn't make sense unless they removed PT.
As for a dive coaster. From what I can tell, the biggest thing about those is diving straight down into a hole in the ground. Something that is not going to happen on a peninsula like CP. It would be cool to have, but the biggest effect of the ride (staring into Oblivion) wouldn't be possible, at least not without being super cheesy.

Oblivion was B&M's first Dive Machine, and you do have to remember how incredibly stupid Stafordshire acts towards the park. Shiekra is a wonderful example of what a Dive Machine should be, and it proves that the Dive Machine is about more than dropping into a tunnel. I cans ee one at CP in 2010 or later when the contract between Busch and B&M runs out. *** Edited 7/14/2005 6:59:48 PM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
What's your source for this 5 year contract between Busch and B&M?
The only way one will come to CP is if it stays above ground, which at that point, why does it have to be a "dive" machine? Why not just a regular B&M hyper with a vertical drop?
Do you know how much maintenance and work would need to be done on tunnels to keep them from leaking. CP doesn't have a whole lot of room before you hit the water table, and then you could be looking at a water coaster very quickly.

I'd thought about that, and the first word that came to mind was T-A-C-K-Y. I think that would be much less exciting than if it were able to go into the ground.
I would much rather see an Invert or a Floorless even a straight up BM Hyper over a Dive Machine. Although Sheikra does look cool, a lot of that is the theming, and we've seen how well CP handles theming.

lol, Good one tophat.:)
Anyway:
Sure, Frontiertown and Frontier Trail have some nicely themed buildings and what not, but it's the coasters (excluding Dragster) that CP skipped to theme.
But that doesn’t make them any less interesting.

There is a contract between B&M and BG to not build dive machines in the US for a certain amount of time. Thats not pulling anything out of my ass, thats the buzz around the internet, and its not considered as low as a rumor, as is the whole 3 intamin coasters at CP thing. Just type it into google, you will get tons of pages mentioning it.
